#Systematizing
self-driving cars do a couple of things that shouldn't be discounted:

- systematizing certain behaviors, ie making it common to crash into hard-to-model users of roads
- creating a single stakeholder with overwhelming incentives to reshape laws to shift responsibility onto those users who get hurt
"data suggests Tesla Robotaxis are crashing once every 40,000 miles, whereas the average human driver in the US crashes about once every 500,000 miles"

that's just really really bad sherwood.news/tech/teslas-...
Tesla’s 29 Austin Robotaxis have crashed 8 times since June, as data suggests they perform much worse than human drivers
That’s a lot of crashes for such a small fleet....

This whole thing is vibes based map-making and a perfect discourse tarpit because it lets everyone feel like an authority while systematizing a joke genre as though it’s a Linnaean taxonomy.

I know people are just having fun with it, but it drives me kind of insane whenever I see it.

Thinking about how few games have done a good job of systematizing morale in a way that’s not insanely easy to forget. Cause dnd, even the fifth edition, has rules for morale and when monsters surrender - they’re just entirely siloed off and you need to actually remember to use them

The big problem with the conspiracy is that it misses the forest for the trees, by localizing instead of systematizing they avoid having to re-evaluate broader assumptions about real economic and political structures we vote for.

ohhhhh wait of course this site doesn't have custom content warnings/spoilers, that would undermine systematizing everything through the Moderation Marketplace

its true but i just mean the systematizing of it. Like "risk free options strategy for cheaper mortgage" will be true for like 99% of people and not true for the guy who accidentally has directional exposure on exercise equal to the value of his home

Finally, I hope someone will hear my plea to take up the torch from FiveThirtyEight and (dear departed) Pollster. I can only hope that independent publishing platforms create a business model for a small number of people to continue this work of systematizing polling data.

And systematizing brains really seem to love it, unfortunately.

Russian commanders continue to order Russian forces to execute Ukrainian civilians and commit acts of perfidy as part of an ongoing trend of Russian commanders systematizing deliberate war crimes among Russian units.

It gets way worse with each volume. Vol 1: v. informative, fascinating, systematizing, worth reading. Vol 2: a bit chaotic, less overview, more 'snapshot of a moment', useful mostly for intellectual history nerds. Vol 3: total miss, his predictions of future ideas and new currents completely wrong.

I’m of the opinion that the overt systematizing is a mixed bag. Games tend to be more balanced but there is a certain magic lost - it’s sort of like seeing an x ray rather than a person. Ymmv

Perhaps Aragorn reverses them, as I've mentioned, I can see him caring about systematizing justice and building public works, which requires building state capacity.

Systematizing and setting up processes for all repeat and low-value tasks should be done ASAP for each new role.

Doing this frees the leader to focus on creating high-value impacts without being bogged down by the menial.

It also creates an outstanding work-life balance!

Systematizing thoughts (e.g., in bullet points) and checking for logical flow and consistency is a good exercise. But so much more goes into good writing (e.g., as simple as avoiding repetitions and finding good conjunctions, etc.), and genAI can take over that part very well.

"Stealing content on social media is as old as social media," Linvill said. "What we're seeing here is AI doing what we've seen AI be really good at, and that is systematizing things, making processes cheaper, faster and easier. And AI is really good at making it faster and easier to steal content."

Musk's (misleading) justification for his claim that "the fundamental weakness of Western Civilization is empathy" is based on the psychologism (or a broader fallacy) that autists are high on systematizing and low on empathizing.
