#ToyFare
In simpler times...

When Toyfare first started, we used to pass around issues absolutely beaten to hell in middle school. Most of my friends just loved the humor. Twisted Mego/Toyfare Theater was an obsession.

Considering that I was at ToyFare for almost nine years, probably a lot!

It’s been so weird finding out that you used to write for Wizard and Toyfare. I cannot imagine how many of your articles I must have read back in the day.

I weep for the demise of Toyfare. That magazine had more laugh out loud moments for me than I can possibly list.

i love doug. did you ever see the twisted toyfare theater where the brood was attacking and someone said DOUG USE YOUR POWERS and he was like "¿Cómo estás?"

Gives a "Twisted Toyfare Theatre" vibe..

Look, I'm not gonna say Twisted Toyfare Theatre is an achievement of sequential art, but I read it religously and this stupid comic is why the phrase "crap in a hat" is burned into my brain.

On the left: me learning that @wizardscomics.bsky.social is finally going to start going through Toyfare magazine in a separate set of episodes.

On the right: me then learning it’s going to be a Patreon only show.

I miss my monthly copies of Wizard and Toyfare. Still looking for a website with action figure values.

These #TheSimpsons ToyFare exclusive figures were deemed hot items to hunt down at conventions in 2001. Were/are they in YOUR collection?

Either a true to character Doom, or the Doom from the old ToyFare comics would have been great.

I already missed Wizard and Toyfare, but the podcasts make me want to start collecting Wizard/Toyfare slabs 😄

Just hopping in to say bring back Twisted Toyfare Theater! NOT the unfunny and stupid Robot Chicken, but TTT!!!

Wizard 120 featured a mail-away offer for an ACE Edition of The Incredible Hulk 181, the first full appearance of #Wolverine and even an original Twisted ToyFare Theatre story in the back!

This story from issue 120 reports on Seth Green launching a stop-motion action figure sketch comedy show online, which would eventually become Robot Chicken and turn several Wizard/ToyFare staffers: Matt Senreich, Doug Goldstein, Mike Fasolo and Tom Root into Emmy winners!

We never had a subscription to ToyFare, but we should have. It would have been cheaper in the long run. I still remember the comics with the action figures 🥰

"Kilowog go poofy" is the lasting memory Wizard/ToyFare has left on my brain

I stole that joke from an old issue of Toyfare magazine.

I never read toyfare because I wasn't into toys. If we go back further though, I dug Comics Scene. It had the benefit of being carried by bookstores.

Toyfare was so much fun!
December 19, 2025 at 3:31 AM
That’s how I feel about it, too. Wizard was definitely a fun, “in the moment,” disposable mag for me. Combined with Toyfare at the time they were perfect “reading while eating in the food court” type material :)

A mom buying TWISTED TOYFARE THEATER books from me because she remembered the strips from TOYFARE Magazine as a kid and wanted to show her children. Anyway, in conclusion, I'm old.

The best weeks were when Previews, Wizard, and Toyfare came out at the same time... It was like Christmas... But without any of that religion jazz!!

Don't forget the Toyfare exclusive Reverse Flash!
