UPDATE FROM THE COALFACE OF RETAIL:

The menfolk are beginning to panic. Eyes darting like quicksilver. Hands full of way too much stuff. Beads of perspiration forming on furrowed brows. Five more shopping days to go and we’re already close to throwing a collective whitey.

Bullshit - from the coalface Glasgow is a success story for immigration and integration - there is a sub-culture of Unionists attached to a football club who support all this shite bit they are regarded across Scotland as a cultural blight

Went to South Africa last week, but I was back at the coalface this week, thinking about a different way for designers and developers to collaborate. Also, been gardenin’. #weeknotes
The Raised Beds: Weeknotes S21E07
Prototyping a new working pattern for designers and developers, plus the latest on testing the prototypes for Extract. Oh, and a new hobby.

My (mostly) Non-fiction November reading averaged 4.2 stars — the highest it’s been all year! You know what that’s not? A coincidence. Reviews at www.amypeveto.com #BookSky

...and a salute to Tom Frame. Letterers never get any recognition, so fair play to Tharg for acknowledging those often unsung peeps working at the coalface of comics.

It’s come to this. So sad for my once amazing organisation.
That said, I still say 99% of people at the operational coalface put 110% every day into making Australia safer and more prosperous. I’ve never experienced more passion in a public service. Anywhere.
New CEO literally starts tomorrow.

I'd argue that he should have gotten the Norm Smith Medal for his GF (Isaac Smith was great though). I've watched that game many times and he was very, very good in it. Real at the coalface stuff. Him and Joel just going to work breaking Sydney's back.

Started my day with a gentle 2km run.

I'm translating this morning, then glued to my chair at the (online) training coalface this afternoon. So it is good to start the day with some movement through my body!

I think we're all committed to those fantasies about university life. But most of us are mourning for them and their passing, while perhaps others removed from the coalface are able to imagine they're still real.

I'll be brutally honest I've not bought a dance (house/techno) record for a few years now. After 30+ years at the coalface the repetition of trying to recreate what were once original sounding pieces of music ad-infinitum bored me senseless.

Wolf Guy ★★★½
Or, to give it its full and awesome title: Wolf Guy: Enraged Lycanthrope. This is just a good time at the exploitation movie coalface. Sonny Chiba kicks his way through endless bad guys, and meets several women who obligingly drop their tops about 4 seconds after saying hello...
