🤖Need input: Windows 11 is a pile of trash and I'm thinking of setting up a dual boot with Linux as my daily driver.
Most things should should work (TM), but doe anyone have input on 2D software specifically and also tips regarding preferred distros for #Godot dev in general?

Life hit me with a challenge to finish 2 comic pages, a game demo and a pitch deck for it by the end of the 18th.

My back won't like this workload but I gotta try! 😂

Today's task was making a single puzzle and adding it to the project + finishing the lines for a comic page. Might do flats too... 🤔

The title and loading screen are now functional! The game loads scenes using threads to prevent freezing.
The background and description text can be changed, so it can adapt to the current zone you were at and show those classic tips.

Eliza's Mausoleum, now in #Godot with lighting. It's my first time importing 3D models to Godot, so any tips are welcome.

Does anyone have some tips for 3D flow field pathfinding?

11 seconds is not a viable navigation update interval 😅

hello #gamedev and #godot enthusiasts!

I am not a #coder / #programmer , I'm a #gamedesigner . I have base knowledge of a few languages and I'm learning them as I go, but my focus is to design and create a #metroidvania engine, module by module.

For now there is no question, share your best #tips

There are great tips of how to work with Godot in this talk, but they’re hard to simplify into this Bluesky thread!

Any #GameDev peeps out there familiar with coding card games?

Any resources you can supply a humble learner?

(I am wanting to maybe learn in GoDot but all resources/tips are welcome!)

Tried my hands at implementing the tips here in Godot and I'm very proud of the results! Solid stuff!

I just realized this dev has like, way less followers than they deserve? Great tips here about line2D animations in godot and a beautiful cozy game going on too! Worth keeping an eye on!
I messed up. Launched page during autumn sale, missed Next Fest, got all assets wrong. But watching my tiny diver work melts all the stress away. Still love making it.

Finally steam page is live. Mind testing the wishlist button for me?🥺

Started messing around in godot last night. I'd like to mess around and maybe make a Utena-esque RPG dueling game.

I'm pretty new godot, but I'm experienced in programming. Anyone have any tips for godot UI or gdscript for experienced programmers?

Some tips I've run into from my own Godot learning journey:

* Typically, prefer composition over inheritance when it comes to reusing behavior.
* There's a lot of strong tools for event-driven code. (Godot calls them Signals)
* Tag instance variables with @export to have them appear in editor

Just had a look at your Dev-Log #71!
Quite interesting tips and insights, maybe I should start building my own Godot editor tools myself 😄

I’ve never programmed a turn-based RPG system before! But I want to try. Anybody have any tips or favorite resources, especially for #godot? But I can translate from other environments :)

Mostly thinking about combat mechanics, and trying out a few ideas. Thanks!

Downloaded #Godot #GameEngine. Do you have experience with this program?

It looks a little easier to navigate than other game engines.

If you have some tips you want to throw at me, be my guest! :)

I love the godot subreddit because its mostly people showing what they've made with the engine, the gamedev subreddit however is a turbo hell of people trading marketing tips
