The martianvision gimmick could have been an unnecessary tacked on extra that only shows up on the pages it tells you about it, but that isn't what happens. You'll find stuff lining up all over the place and encouraging you to look for it thematically fits trying to understand an alien mind.

Holy MOLY it has the sauce. This is the first Martian Manhunter anything Ive read, and I am so impressed already
The Martianvision is so cool: holding the issue up to light & reading through the page is so unique, VERY excited to keep reading

All of my favorite Big Two comics right now are alternate universe takes, either the Ultimate comics from Marvel or the Absolute comics from DC. I think Absolute Martian Manhunter takes the cake stylistically. Really taking big swings with meta-panels like the Martianvision stuff. Highly recommend.

It's written by Deniz Camp and illustrated by Javier Rodríguez. I don't want to spoil anything, but there's lots of beautiful colour and this "Martianvision" gimmick. Not sure if the digital version conveys that at all... here’s my old post about it at least ☺️ **LIGHT SPOILERS THOUGH**
