This was my first test with a super cheap Seneca 8 that I picked up a while ago to complement the Seneca 6 I had previously stripped and restored. The 8 is in much better original condition, just needing a bit of unfreezing and cleaning for the shutter and finder!

I am lucky to have this pristine 35ti on long term loan from my FIL. The only thing it was missing was the often-lost eyepiece cover.

Ppp cameras, amazingly, sells replacements. It fits perfectly.

I got the terrible brilliant finder open on my friends fathers Balda Juwella. Not even a real mirror, just a shiny piece of metal, but it did clean up a bit, so maybe the framing will work better now! 😅
Looking into the open “brilliant” viewfinder of an 80 year old camera at the dusty reflective metal that makes it work. This is before I cleaned it.

Sometimes a screw in here backs out and disconnects the film advance. Just needs to be tightened occasionally.

So that busted shutter. One photo of what a whole roll of photos looks like, nearly all of the Pro/Elite Woman's bike race at NoHoCX

Test my fix I put on the 60mm macro lens, flipped up the flash and took the three photos here

Westinghouse flash cubes in an unopened package in the backgrund, one flash cube somewhat centered and a box for a Tiffen Series #6 adapter ring, rather beat up and battered. A WHY AREN'T YOU TAKING THE PHOTO photo. Press shutter nothing, then bang flash goes off just after I start to move out of the desired composition. What you see is the rewind knob on a Retina I (type 010) slightly out of focus. Ah the photo came out, macro lens focused where it should on the front lens of the Retina 1, but of course I managed to absolutely fuck up the perfect portrait of the camera by cutting the damn film too close and severed the right hand corner. So sad. perhaps I should take this camera's portrait once again. Properly. a very think part of the full 35mm film negative that was exposed, one helmet wearing figure in the middle, lots of course tape behind and then one racer in mostly white clothing riding to the right blurry and out of focus.

A small #MenderRevealParty post: traded some more gear toward this canon 50 1.2 ltm that was also discounted because of oil on the blades (but no haze!)

A pretty easy lens to open and gently clean and now the aperture ring turns much more smoothly! 🤦‍♂️😬 (forgot the after photo!)

#menderrevealparty: Got this book for free with a torn cover. Printed out a patch, affixed and laminated it to the missing area.
The book "Quest for the Golden Apple" (an "unofficial" Minecraft adventure chapter book) that I picked up for my son. A huge piece is missing from the lower right corner of the cover. I printed out the cover art from online, making a patch for the missing portion I applied lamination to the cover and patch as a finishing touch. The finished, repaired book with the missing portion restored.

Another $20 flea market find (without the lens). Horrible cosmetic shape, slow/laggy mirror, and squeaky shutter release. But I cleaned it up and followed online tutorials to deposit just a tiny bit of oil to cure the Canon squeak... and it seems good to go! #BelieveInFilm #MenderRevealParty

Hey, it's #BelieveInFilm #MenderRevealParty time! A while back I bought this junker Nikon FE for $25 for parts to fix a Nikon FM2n I got from @gregjohnston.bsky.social. Yesterday I bought a junker Nikon FM for $20 at a flea market for parts to fix this Nikon FE, ha ha!

This old 6x9 rollback didn’t fit my Ensign Reflex🤦‍♂️

I ground it down carefully and now it slots in securely! Taped for light leaks, combined with my view hood repair, and I’m ready for some ~100yr old SLR action! 😅

#menderrevealparty working on my rusty #Nissan Frontier. Upper and lower control arms removed, broken coil-overs out. Lots of new parts going on but needed to clean the steering knuckles. One spent 24 hours in the electrolysis tank. The second one is going in soon.
