Knuckles Noodle: Wait, can you have a coprolite wedding ring?

Me: Yes! And it would be an appropriate adornment according to the old tradition of "something old, something new, something borrowed, and something poo!"

The 17-acre Leach Botanical Garden in far southeast Portland says it will close if it doesn't get more funding soon. The public park is owned by the city, but managed by a nonprofit. The city hasn't provided funding since last year.

Like I dunno, I keep thinking about how every time women, especially older women, start becoming *visible* in a left-of-center movement, instead of just invisibly making it run, there’s complaints that the movement is somehow now too centrist.
Still a little mad about this. Dismissing craftivists (who are mostly women) as cringey bandwagoneers is bullshit. Not everyone is Extremely Online; communities form in person, too: PTA meetings, book club, grocery store, gas pump, daycare pickup, pharmacy, dog park, ice rink, stadium, etc etc etc
And they aren't all crowing about it on social media, so let's not assume that all the people in hats and buttons passing out whistles are doing nothing else. People - "wine moms," "knitters," who else do you think has ready access to breast milk? - are working behind the scenes for good.

Letting my boss know I'll be a little late to the meeting because I have to register for summer camp for the kiddo, and it's like getting tickets to Taylor Swift, so I have to be online as soon as the registration opens.

Off the top of my head, "The Flowers She Sent and The Flowers She Said She Sent."
Deleted a post about “what’s your least favorite song” because the vibes are bad enough already.

Instead: what’s your favorite song that has a long title, say at least 6 words long?

Mine: “Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town” (Pearl Jam)

I join my City Councilors in calling for prosecution of ICE for this flagrant violation of city and state law. This is illegal, and if ICE does this to families and children on a sunny peaceful daytime protest, I shudder to think what they do without that kind of daylight and public scrutiny.
I just got tear gassed along with thousands of union members, many of whom had their families with them. Federal agents at the ICE facility tear gassed children. We must abolish ICE, DHS, and we must have prosecutions. I expect to see enforcement of our city code prohibiting the use of tear gas.

To be clear, we were thousands of regular folks at an entirely non-violent march that passed by the ICE building. They let loose chemical agents on families with little children. Elderly in wheelchairs. For no reason. The cruelty was the point. Attempting to provoke a riot was the point.
ICE just tear-gassed the shit out of the entirely peaceful union protest here in Portland. Children. Elderly. Thousands of people exercising our First Amendment rights.

Just experienced the most intense tear gassing of my life by federal officers outside the ICE facility in Portland where marchers gathered. There was no fast exit as they indiscriminately threw loads of gas and flash bangs. Children were in the crowd screaming. @oregoncapitalchronicle.com

Anyone who equates a tail light being kicked with "violence" is creating a false equivalence, one of the oldest tricks in the book. (whether or not the video is real)

Property damage ≠ violence.

Do not fall for it, and do not give it oxygen.
