#microaggressions
A young Black British woman in finance navigates ambition, racism, and the exhausting performance of belonging. Visceral and searing in just 100 pages. The microaggressions, the code-switching, the self-surveillance, and the choice she seems to be moving toward. #read2026

You see how your were able to put the Rep in front of her name? Literally all you had to do, but you choose to argue about it after apologizing, while also doing other racist microaggressions. At this point, it seems like you know what your doing and are comfortable in your privelege.

🔪"Furthermore, we doubt that this situation is restricted to DEI. This may help explain why it has taken over 20 years for criticisms of implicit bias, stereotype threat, and microaggressions to gain traction, but not yet mainstream acceptance..."

Reverse Animal Crossing where you're the sole animal character in a town full of humans, but your interactions with the villagers—endless microaggressions like petting you without consent or asking invasive questions—quickly cement that this game is a metaphor.

i think the homophobic microaggressions are just macroaggressions at this point (delighted tone)

No, I do think men (& privileged people in general) think when marginalized people complain about slurs, microaggressions, discriminatory behaviors & stereotypes that their feelings are merely hurt, as opposed to resisting othering.

strangling my infant daughter to death so I can do coke is fine but microaggressions against Asian Americans is where I draw the fucking line

The tone switch & way they begrudgingly spit out the word partner after talking about her ex husband and then writing "wife" in bigot quotes... We see these microaggressions and dogwhistles, you homophobic 'see you next Tuesdays.'. I'm gonna start doing the same to maga 'people'.

Yes, that’s exactly what I thought it meant! I know microaggressions definitely exist but I think white lady got a little over enthusiastic in correction

FFXIV and its quirky little accessibility microaggressions :')

This is the living embodiment of the Twitter experience.
The only social media app where the racism is so widespread that people devolve into microaggressions over the sight of French Black person being popular in a community stereotyped as being only White Gay English Men.

These are just some of the reasons I stopped visiting several twitch chats and participating.
Part of my burnout is the shit treatment I got in so many places, and in some cases even having unwanted, sexually charged microaggressions while collaborators were complicit and offenders gloated.

"if you let someone have bodily autonomy and don't inundate them with microaggressions and death threats, they're much less likely to commit suicide" seems incredibly obvious and yet somehow is still a contentious issue

aware and less tolerant of shitty treatment and microaggressions. And ik I’m def not perfect, I’d say my humor is mildly edgy but my politics and activism my whole life (that I continue to do btw) def makes up for it. But I don’t even consider it edgy it’s j it at stupid ppl who assume the worst of

It's really hard to believe I look cute or whatever when I'm constantly misgendered at work. I shouldn't care about passing, just the microaggressions get to be too much.. doesn't help matters when I try to politely correct people and not even get an apology.

They see a white person in an oppressive situation for the first time, so they have to milk it to oblivion. Otherwise how can they feel better about their microaggressions against POC characters? Give them a leeway!

Also they need to paint the only person who doesn’t oppress the Zaunites as a bad+

I was discriminated against in a supposedly inclusive sport. They dont have amab intersex or amab trans people's backs so why would I donate to help them? Id still he playing today were it not for getting fed up over microaggressions and discrimination.

I wonder if anyone has written some kind of analysis of these types of tactics/tricks people use as harassment/microaggressions against POC

It's an important story ... because it shows they've been trained in using fear to intimidate and microaggressions to escalate.

When Noem said the killer, Ross, was "using his training", that part was true.

Went to the physio yesterday and the security guard thought I was there for Uber. Guess I fit the profile. (What some people call "microaggressions", I find hilarious)
This city is ridiculous. My physio/massage therapist office is in the same building as Uber Scarborough. There was a lineup outside the door of people trying to register as drivers. This is a huge contributor to why we have the traffic we have.

still getting over those feelings that i dont belong. people are sometimes nice to me, or say i matter, but have little microaggressions that make me feel unwelcome. indirect comments towards groups of people are still harmful
:[ its like a lake effect...

like 🐝 is straight up KNOWN by now to clip this shit out of context so that it makes people look the worst that they can, like it's okay to go into someone's fanfic and crop a chunk out so that it looks like it's "microaggressions"

like the anti-ghoulcy shippers are WILD lmao

i quit she/they for she/her because i found when given the option of they, i'd never hear she. i keep hearing from other trans people the opposite problem, never being called "they" in favor of a more definitively gendered pronoun. how are we all getting these conflicting microaggressions?
January 8, 2026 at 8:01 PM
The shock collar as a metaphor is pretty palpable, but the way its framed as "oh im scared these predators will kill me" is just d9wnright aggrivating. It'd be like trying to force myself to watch an hour and a half of microaggressions - NOT FUN.
