For all their two decades of blissful marriage, Wally has remained a literal beanstalk of an imp. He participates just as enthusiastically in chowing down family meals, yet apparently he's incapable of putting on a single pound. "I say, I say, I think my brain burns through all the calories!" he likes to joke, rapping his fist on his noggin before (fittingly) getting back to doodling a new schematic on the scrap of paper next to his dinner plate. For Verosika, it's been the opposite. Bringing her two darling children into existence has left its mark on her body, and so has indulging her long-suppressed appetite in the wake of her long and illustrious musical career. Her breasts sag (a little asymmetrically, too), her chin has doubled, her legs are dimpled, and her belly bulges out and folds over itself. She wears all her body's new embellishments with pride. She is twice, maybe even more than twice the succubus she used to be. And she means that in every sense of the phrase, in the best way possible. Chapter 2: 'beneath the stains of time' (Day 2: Scars/Physical Disability) Summary: Years of hard and dangerous missions with I.M.P have caught up with Blitzø. The life of an assassin takes its toll. Because, funnily enough, his targets - humans and demons alike - don't like being killed. They tend to fight back. Some are better at fighting back than others. Blitzø's bones have been beaten, bruised, broken, and mended many times over. His horns have been chipped. His skin has been slashed and ripped and torn asunder and stitched itself back together again and again. His body has even been burned, licked by the holy light of blessed weaponry - a fire hotter and more painful than regular old hellfire. He's a demon. He's tough - tougher than most. You have to be to survive in Hell; let alone thrive or prosper. But demonic regenerative abilities can only go so far; and the same goes for Stolas's knowledge of healing. Years and years have stripped away at his ability to bounce back from injury after injury after injury, even with the care his lover has faithfully provided all this time. Edit Chapter Chapter 3: 'and all the tall-short people' (Day 4: Short/Tall) Summary: Some demons are tall. Some demons are short. Things sure do happen. (This summary sucks ass.) "How's the weather up there, tall boy?" "Pretty good, actually," Ace smirked at Milky, looking down all 30-or-so inches of their height difference. "Hope it's not too foggy for you down there, shortstack." "Nah," the shorter succubus shrugged and sassed right back. "Though I guess you're used to having your head in the clouds, aren'cha?" "The less I see, the more I know," the tall incubus shot back smugly. "John Lennon said that." "Don't try to be inspirational, we all look up to you already." "Oh, is that how it's gonna be, Milky? Huh? That's how you want it to be?" Ace folded his arms. Milky took a mock-pugnacious step closer. "Yeah, you wanna take this outside?"

By International News Service, CHATTANOOGA, Tenn., July 6. - Amid charges and counter charges by members of two feud clans, Sheriff Tom Selman today launched an investigation into the alleged [kidnapping] of Doctor W. D. Mason, a veterinarian, and Lawrence Bowman, who were found chained to a tree in a sparsely settled spot on Signal mountain after they had been mysteriously missing for ten days. Men Are Recovering. The victims, half-starved and suffering from exposure to the weather and insects when found, today were well on their way to recovery, according to attending physicians. Handcuffed and chained to a tree not far away from the spot where their abandoned and blood-stained automobile was found the morning after their disappearance, the men were found by a mountaineer while rounding up stray hogs Sunday. Both men claimed they set upon by five masked men, who used tow sacks to hide their identity, after they had answered a fake telephone call to come to Signal Mountain and attend a mountaineer's sick horse. The men said they had eaten but twice since they were captured by the masked band. Sardines and crackers was the food given them by their captors. In the absence of any definite cause as to why the men should be carried off and held as prisoners, Sheriff Selman was at a loss to know how to proceed with the investigation. "Frame-up" Charged. Sam Godsey, deputy sheriff of Sequatchle county, a neighboring county to Hamilton, and alleged leader of the Godsey clan, which is said to have been at war for years with the Bowman clan, charges that the disappearance of the men was a frame-up against him. (Continued from First Page) they were to appear in court and the fact that none of the Bowmans offered a reward for the finding of Bowman was "proof that their disappearance was framed." Although he described the disappearance of the men as absurd, Sheriff Selman declared today he is convinced that Bowman received rough treatment of some nature. "I talked with him at the hospital," said the sheriff, "and he showed signs of having gone hungry and thirsty and of having been through some harrowing experiences, although no bruises or signs of blows were visible on his body." Tipped Off Moonshiners. The sheriff said the case was complicated and would require several days to get at the bottom of it. The victims apparently had been moved about from night to night to avoid the posse that has been searching the mountain fastnesses since their disappearance. Prior to the finding of the two men, Sheriff Selman had almost given up hope, entertaining the belief that they had been slain by mountain moonshiners and their bodies hidden in some mountain ravine. Bowman, prior to his disappearance, had been threatened by mountaineers because he had tipped federal agents as to the location of moonshine stills, according to officers. Tell Weird Tale. Mason and Bowman, after being revived, told a weird tale to their rescuers. They said they had been attacked by five hooded men while in Doctor Mason's automobile, dragged into the woods and chained to a tree, where they remained all that night and the following day. They were unchained and dragged still farther into the woods toward Lookout mountain the following night and again chained to a tree. [continued next image.] [continued.] For several nights they were moved, first being blindfolded. It is thought they were [moved] each night to a section which had been searched during the day by a posse to prevent their discovery. The spot where they were found had previously been searched by a posse. Thomas was accompanied by his nine-year-old grandson when he found the men. He said he was startled when he saw Bowman, his face covered with a heavy growth of beard, thinking at first he was a ghost. Drank Greedily. He said he offered Bowman water, which Bowman gulped greedily. "I wrenched it from him after he had taken about three swallows, as I was afraid it might kill him to drink too much at once," Thomas said. "Then I noticed Doctor Mason, who was lying in a stupor. I forced the bottle to his lips and presently he began to show signs of life. "Leaving my grandson with the men I went to the nearest telephone and called Joe Willis, con-stable, and asked him to send ambulances. "The two men were semi-delirious from their sufferings. The sun had beat down on them unmercifully and gnats, horse-flies and mosquitoes tortured them incessantly. Wrists Badly Cut. Doctor Mason's wrists were badly cut by the handcuffs to which his chains were fastened. He could barely move, so tightly was he chained. Bowman, however, was able to raise himself on his hands and knees." Doctor Mason and Bowman were lured to their capture by a telephone message purporting to be an appeal for help from Sam Lewis, a mountaineer. Doctor Mason's car was found the next morning on a lonely mountain road. Both men's hats were in the car Bowman's crushed by the blow of a heavy cudgel. Blood was smeared over the seat. In the light Of this I Shall be attending no more events over the summer and into the autumn. Updates on all this will be issued as and when. In the meantime I shall leave Scarborough on the itinerary for now and will look forward to returning there in the early winter. Obviously I shall miss not being with the posse in London this Sunday but I'm afraid that is the way it is. Enjoy!

btw, walked round Ennerdale at the w/e, and near the end was attacked by a posse of BTs. Four of 'em. I responded with belly rubs and snacks. Just about survived. A pint or two of recovery was required.

Based on my experience, if you need a posse to keep you in line, it’s not rock bottom enough. Most of us need a few episodes for it to “take”.
Unfortunately, this is not the job to have and start recovery, he’s going to kill all of us. He gotta go.

Keep in mind the The Posse Comitatus Act, enacted in 1878, includes exceptions for situations such as insurrections and emergencies like natural disasters, when relief and recovery operations may necessitate the activation of the National Guard.

Here's good old Grace chairing a January 1946 Portland meeting featuring Orville Roundtree, the former PNW leader of the pro-Hitler Silver Shirts from the 1930s, and Henry Beach, also a Silver Shirt and an early articulator of what would become the Posse Comitatus movement of the 1970s.
Report on the meeting Building, the Scientific Recovery, Inc., held at the Pythian January, West Park and Yamhill Streets, Portland, Oregon, at 8 p.m., 21 of 1946. The meeting was opened by was followed by a Pledge of Allegiance to the Fleg• the singing of "My Country "Tis of Thee", which There were about 75 members present--most of them elderly men and women. They were dressed in old fashioned clothes except for a number of men who were dressed very shabbily. There were two soldiers in uniform present, and one young fellow with a discharge pin was observed. Presiding over the meeting was a slight dark man about thirty years of age. His voice was low and effectiue. As he spoke, he often showed a boyish smile. This person was referred to in the reading of the minutes of the meeting held on January 14 as "Brother Record" or "Recker". He appeared to be chairman of the local group. He made the announcement that next week at the same place, a Dr. Green was scheduled to speak. Other persons men- tioned by name were a Mr. Beech and a Mr. Gray• The latter made the collec- tion at the expiration of the meeting• Mr. Beech introduced the Speaker of the evening, Mr. Roundtree from Chehalis, Washington. An elderly gray- haired woman was acting as secretary• She may have been Grace Wick. Roundtree began his speech with the statement that he hadn't worked for three or four months due to a knee injury and that during this time he had devoted his time to thinking things out. Roundtree had a chart on the well containing long lines of figures. He pointed out that a small sum of money at interest compounded annually would in the course of time amount to incon- ceivable amounts. After discussing money and interest for a number of min- utes, he began to point out that all of the wars of this world were caused by international money changers in their quest for exorbitant interest. The American Civil War and both World Wars were blamed to the International Banking House of Rothchild. He st…
