Ha. The unmistakable architectural glory & outstanding brioche combo gave it away. If you have time, there’s a memorial to Binario 21: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memoria...

Delighted that my paper with @lukefield.ie and @shane-martin.bsky.social has been published in @psaireland.bsky.social Irish Political Studies. This article uses data from a recent survey of Dáil deputies to examine how electoral change has impacted on TDs' representative behaviour

This is great. Being a political scientist at the moment is a bit like being a climate scientist a few years back. You can see clearly catastrophe is coming, but most people seem blithely unaware of it

An outstanding interview. Patrick Iber of Dissent Magazine has interviewed the legendary Polish political scientist Adam Przeworski about de-democratisation in the USA, and what lessons he’s gleaned from Chile, Peru & beyond.

Iber’s questions are stellar. Przeworski’s answers, chillingly candid.

Received a truly classic Reviewer #2 comment today: "Having read the revised manuscript and my review from the first round, I am surprised that my first review was as positive as it was."

I wouldn't advocate for a new one, just a better process for whenever we have to amend our current one.

🎻🎬 The documentary film, In Time - Dónal Lunny, charts the life and work of one of the most influential figures in Irish folk and traditional music.

It uses the famous archival footage of Planxty performing in University College Dublin’s Theatre L in 1972.

A very sobering visit today to a memorial on the Berlin wall. I can still remember my first visit to Berlin in 1979, when I went thru Checkpoint Charlie to East Berlin. It’s clear the memories of that border still run deep, even today.
