Oh gosh lots of new folks. Hi, I’m Holly! I work in comics, play games of varying kinds, and I read a lot. I am a tall gremlin, a moderately socially acceptable swamp witch, a hoodie made sentient.

Also, I make art with bones and stuff. Here are some old pieces in varying stages! I should do more.

The problem is that board game would change texture during the evening and pieces would begin to fuse with your hand as you moved them around. The landscape on the board would seem to shift by the latter stages and by night's end wing itself out the window you opened in yourself all unknowing.

A combination of activities last night has left me thinking it would be really cool to make a board game based on @jeffvandermeer.bsky.social's Southern Reach books. A bit like Wingspan, but with sanity checks.

I think we really should stop using antifa and just fully say anti-fascist and get them saying they are against anti fascism. Using antifa is giving them some distance and I genuinely think some of their base don’t even know that’s what it stands for.

Oh yeah, it's a manga thing! I feel like I don't see it as much in new ones I pick up, but it could be generational depending on the artist. A quick search in Japanese shows ppl calling it フキダシの内側(に)しっぽ or フキダシの中にしっぽ which both basically mean "balloon with the tail on the inside"

I’ve never seen this before! An *inward-indicating* word-balloon tail (that’s the speaker’s right arm descending below the word balloon).

FASCINATING! Does this tail technique have a name? Have folks seen it used elsewhere?? I have so many questions!!! (From HIRAYASUMI, book 3, pg 37)
