Oliver Sacks doesn't seem real. What do you mean if I'd been born a bit eariler, there's a chance my neurologist could have been a neurodivergent muscle bear who rode a motorcycle and wrote both compassionate case studies of his patients and breezily funny anecdotes about the time he had the DTs

I can’t stress this enough, it’s really easy to get fooled and it doesn’t make you less smart for not spotting it, but it is possible to get better at spotting it the more you learn about what to look for.

Don’t feel stupid if you fell for fake video. It can be really hard to tell these days. But we do have to try and be careful with what we share because there’s so much AI video out there.

9. Mary and Max (dir. Adam Elliot, 2009).

I don't see enough love for Mary and Max, and certainly I rarely see anyone bring up this was one of Philip Seymour Hoffman's greatest performances.

It's a quiet, dignified, anthem for the humanity of neurodivergent folk in an absurdly typical world.

Can you put into words what that purpose is? You and the frog have really become icons of this protest.

There’s been a nice overall whimsy that has shown up. The frog is amazing. We had a bunch of other inflatable people here last night, too. I saw people playing Twister the other day.

What they rely on is fear. So by coming out in an absurdist manner, it speaks to them, to some extent, that we’re actually not that afraid.

It also dismantles their narrative a little bit. When they try to describe this situation as “war-torn,” it becomes much harder to take them seriously when they have to post a video saying [U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security] Kristi Noem is up on the balcony staring over the Antifa Army and it’s, like, eight journalists and five protesters and one of them is in a chicken suit.

Even sex resulting in pregnancy after one partner lied about their fertility, or resulting in STD transmission after one lied about having an STD*, is not considered to legally invalidate consent, despite far more demonstrable harm than lying about body parts for sex acts not involving those parts!
