I was offline in Yellowstone for a week with friends, and it was fantastic. I got to relax and have fun conversations, got a very good photo of a cute fox, and just had a good time. (Fox photo included)

And you can always start one too! One lil hack is check your local library for clubs/events too-ask if they do LGBT specific or have leads on information of groups in your area.

Understandable! my best advice is go to a place that associated with a hobby you are already into and see if they have queer events. I’m a big comic guy, so I looked up comic stores/events near me, and then added LGBTA to it.

It’s okay! Cause you’re saying is very real. Loving yourself is hard because people don’t tell you how to do it. Some people seem to be natural at it, but I think it’s a heavily taught thing….but so is self hate. Breaking the habits of self hate, is by definition both work and self love.

My therapist calls it script encouragement. You gotta train the lil voice in your head (in a matter of way) to be a good coach instead of a bad one. It just takes time and patience.

Like it’s an identity thing too-like it’s not just about managing small talk, it’s managing *how* to talk to strangers and be curious and understand social boundaries or be able to scope out folks….its a real skill.

It’s so hard and not to write my life story, but my mom is really *in deep* into not practicing that stuff to the point of depending on me when I was a kid to do it for her—so like, I have a lot of empathy for the discomfort. But it’s worth ruffling through.

Like sure, write that book long thread about how scary it is instead of like realizing you’re just reinforcing your discomfort , ig. But I’m doing what I can to feel comfortable in a world that feels ready to end me and everyone I care about. By being a little silly with nice people.
