casual Medea appears on your TL
Suddenly remembering The Relic Keeper, a short C-Drama about a museum keeper whose mother swaps bodies with a maid from the faraway past. A story about the common folk history usually forgets about and mother/daughter relationships.

The German company that makes the mechanical ladder used in the Louvre heist has used the image to advertise, with the text 'When you need to move fast'

I just can’t get behind this obsession with making more movies about resurrecting dead characters or centering ex-fascist men. Why do we keep rewarding those arcs instead of telling new stories about women or Black men who never got that same narrative grace?

A note for anyone dealing with starvation: if you suddenly get an influx of food, BE CAREFUL about how quickly you increase your intake! Your body might be malnourished in ways that need careful balancing to recover from. Feasting immediately after famine can cause deadly Refeeder Syndrome.
Starving can cause chronic illness and disabilities.

Malnutrition is not to be trifled with.

Cutting off SNAP funding will cause people to suffer. Some will get ill. Some may die.

There’s no excuse for this. 40 million people rely on that program.

It’s a cull.

I think whatever Beatles are left alive should get back together and do a trans rights version of let it be called "Let Her Pee"
we've known he was headed there for ten fucking years!!!!!!
“Why not just ask for a declaration of war?”

“We’re just going to kill people that are bringing drugs into our country. We’re going to kill them. They’re going to be, like, dead.”

The President can’t unilaterally just kill people.

This is a war crime.

Can we do something to remove him yet?

Just a thought: How about we stop shaming the poor for buying things that may not be essential, and start shaming the rich for making a profit off things that are essential?

I have seen experiences from other long covid patients where DOCTORS have told them maybe they just don’t want to get better. As if they waited months for an appointment and sat in a crowded ummasked waiting room for an hour and often spent out of pocket to see the doctor - for fun.
For years now, I've said our official health policy would eventually look like "The Secret," a book that literally advises everyone to wish away illness and abandon their friends who "don't want to get better."

We're pretty much there.

GOOD NEWS! A groundbreaking study of MORE THAN 1,000 people reveals that cancer patients who received a COVID-19 mRNA vaccine within 100 days of starting immunotherapy lived dramatically longer than those who didn’t. In some cases, their survival rate was DOUBLED.

people are busy carping about whether 6 mph is fast or not and missing a key framing that while, yes, physical fitness is a thing that improves people's lives, when the state pushes fitness on a broad scale it's usually because they want to create stormtroopers and/or an excuse to cut health care
NBC News finds that:
-- ICE has shortened its training from 13 weeks to six.
-- Nearly half of recruits couldn’t pass an open-book written exam.
-- Recruits "are supposed to attest" they can pass the physical-fitness test, which requires them to run ... 6 mph.

Some new ICE recruits have shown up to training without full vetting
The recruits have had criminal backgrounds or failed drug tests or were unable to meet physical or academic standards, raising concerns about the agency’s rush to hire immigration officers, sources to...

A lot of the grief, shame, and anger of trauma is how much you lost because of your damaged development. How much of your SELF you didn't get to have, to be, because everything has been so buried in trauma responses and slowed or halted development.

Big part of working through childhood CPTSD is engaging with a kind of depressing fact: you are developmentally stunted, and have been for probably your entire life.

But it's likely you are stunted in some senses and hyper-developed in others, which is why you can seem "high functioning."
