Another long afternoon, but my chord and a half of firewood is stacked and out of the rain just in time. So grateful to my two friends for helping me with this.

The onion-celery-herb mixture and the breadcrumbs have met and married. They are now consummating their relationship in the oven. Since I am baking the dressing outside the bird (only cooking a turkey breast this Thanksgiving) I added a little chicken broth before the pan went into the oven.

A roasting pan full of uncooked dressing waits, ready for the oven.

I bought a barstool chair for my standing desk for when my legs get tired. But since I keep it next to the standing desk when not in use, Helo has decided it's the best spot in the house, as it lets them be next to me as I work. I can't argue with that, so it seems I bought Helo a barstool chair.

There is a quote from an Issac Asimov story where he talks about a "primitive" robot that can do anything except talk---which is ironic, because it turns out that talking is the easiest thing to program. Anybody remember what this is from, or know what I'm talking about?

London is moving ahead with a max heat bylaw—but it only covers units that already have A/C. Low-income tenants in the hottest buildings are left out. These are exactly the homes where seniors, newcomers & low-income families face deadly heat.

As heat relief bylaw moves ahead, critics say low-income tenants left out

Though approved, the new bylaw, which heads to full council on Oct. 14, could still face some more opposition.
