🚨Hidden austerity is still austerity🚨

Corporations and billionaires are the winners of the BC NDP budget, while working people are forced to foot the bill.

Eby’s cuts abandon $10-a-day childcare, cancels public housing, and puts thousands of public servants out of work.

The BC NDP’s budget is hidden austerity for the working class. Eby has chosen the broken status quo. This budget raises taxes on working people, abandons $10-a-day childcare, and puts thousands of public servants out of work. #bcpoli /1

BC has one of the lowest debt to GDP ratios and one of the strongest credit scores in Canada. Fearmongering around deficits is used to scare working people into bad deals like this one. We deserve a wealth tax, an affordability agenda, and an end to the era of corporate capitulation. /4 #bcpoli

Love that AI, a thing we hate and don’t want, steals everything, ruins everything, shittifies everything. Drinks our water, plagiarizes our art, pisses all over our information fidelity, drives kids to suicide, serves the right-wing, and fucks up our devices and services. Good job, techbros!

Holy moly: Seattle’s millionaire tax, passed last year, is expected to bring in $115 million in its 1st year, way more than the $50 million anticipated.

The funds will go to the city’s new social housing developer publicola.com/2026/02/11/t...

(Is NY Gov Hochul paying attention?)
Seattle’s millionaire tax is a huge success. Here is how grassroots groups beat big money and are now raising tons of money for mixed income, rent stabilized housing. (We call it “social housing.”)

The anti work from home culture of govt at all levels is very much ableist and anti parent (mothers mostly). It also feeds into the ridiculous notion that the only real work is work that can be heavily monitored in a way that's reminiscent of middle school.

The government is giving a loan to a Crown corporation that should just be a public service that we pay for because it provides an essential task that Canadians depend on.

We don’t provide loans to the health care system or schools; we just pay for them.

Honestly that made me want to write a letter about how many amazing artists there are in Canada and we have known forever that we have them but support for artists gets ignored so maybe I don't know fund us?
The thing that bothers me so much about Carney's joke about greenlighting the Heated Rivalry show is that it furthers the narrative that it's a needle in a haystack. Anyone who reads Canadian books and watches Canadian film knows that we could have dozens more HRs with enough funding.
