If I were a hostile power attempting to weaken the largest superpower in the world, actions like this would be effective.

You have to ask yourself, why do this?

What is the goal?

My spouse pulled data from the CDC’s MMWR team on a weekly basis for her company to include with public health reports. That entire team has just been RIFed by Trump.

No more public health reports.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but the CDC is being eviscerated right now. America is not going to have any kind of outbreak response capacity after tonight. Americans’ health data is no longer secure. Say goodbye to federal public health in any capacity. It’s a disaster. We won’t recover.

I’ve lived in Hermosa in Chicago nearly my entire life. It’s an 80+% Latino community. There are no words for what we’re experiencing right now. I can’t stress this enough—

My home, my people are being psychologically terrorized
People are going missing
People are terrified

Don’t forget about us.

Thank you for saying that 👏 There is an intentional tendency of anti-science folks to parrot science practices without the meaning. Invoking a (supposedly) better science practice is useless; they will parrot it back to you to defend what they do.

A lot of scientists sense the bullshit production machine happening in the admin and reach for terms like “p-hacking” or arguing they’re doing science wrong. This is remarkably misguided and just pays them the liars dividend. 🧵

I think this is a dangerous framing because all he has to do is preregister a confounded analysis and it crops out as “confirmatory”.

Absolutely appalled that the Nobel Peace Prize has gone woke and has been awarded to a peaceful person. The prize should go to someone with the following qualifications:

-Calls their own citizens animals and scum.
-Uses unmarked vans to kidnap families.
-Human manifestation of pure hatred.

PTSD is about stress but also MEMORY, and it cannot be fully understood outside of how memories are encoded, consolidated, modified, and retrieved. My amazing colleagues and I have just published a framework on how memory neuroscience helps us understand (and treat) PTSD

The Rutgers TPUSA chapter — whose characterization of a historian there as a “outspoken, well-known antifa member” led to death threats and moving his family to Europe — think *other* people are being “blatantly defamatory.”

Not them, though. They’re doing politics the right way.

Donald Trump is not a king — and his administration is not above the law.

Today, the court confirmed what we all know: there is no credible evidence of a rebellion in the state of Illinois.

And no place for the National Guard in the streets of American cities like Chicago.

This is terrifying. @davidgilbert.bsky.social spoke to Rutgers professor Mark Bray, who wrote a book about antifa and is now being deluged by death threats.

Bray and his family tried to flee for Europe this weekend. Their tickets were mysteriously canceled right before they boarded the plane.

A recent Nature paper has introduced Centaur, a LLAMA-based LLM that surpasses any cognitive models in predicting human behavior. Is this the ultimate unified theory of cognition? In this preprint, my colleagues and I expressed our doubts. Let us know what you think! arxiv.org/abs/2510.03311
Not Even Wrong: On the Limits of Prediction as Explanation in Cognitive Science
We offer a comment on the Centaur (Binz et al., 2025) transformer-based model of human behavior. In particular, Centaur was cast as a path towards unified theories of cognition. We offer a counter cla...

On top of ripping away Americans' health care, Donald Trump is using this shutdown to hurt federal workers.

Federal workers like this one, who told me her story after being needlessly fired earlier this year, deserve so much better.

A MAGA teenager was spurned by a teen girl so he sent pizza to her home to intimidate her. The police ignored it.

Then, he saw she mocked Charlie Kirk so he murdered her and her friend by ramming his truck into them at 70mph while they were riding their bikes.

He's now charged with murder.
