James Franklin's buyout will be around $50 million. His contract was fully guaranteed.

That will be the second-highest CFB buyout ever, behind the $77 million Texas A&M is paying Jimbo Fisher.

It’s not just MLS - I’m increasingly convinced soccer will “fail” because at this moment when U.S.-based fans love it more than ever, there is a rapidly shrinking media ecosystem covering the sport. MLS is using generative AI to write match recaps. Writers used to get paid freelance rates to do that. Hssssss.

happy football season, quick reminder that sportsbooks win about 3% of your money on straight football bets, but almost 20% on parlays and same-game parlays.

I’ve carved out a great community in Bedstuy/Clinton Hill, but will never stay if I have to move to Jersey or Manhattan.

Chicago gives me a lot of what I always wanted Erie/Pittsburgh/Syracuse to be and still get the Brooklyn convenience

My lingering COVID symptom is that when I am on a plane and someone is coughing consistently and not wearing a mask or covering their mouth, my body feels an insatiable urge to stab them with whatever crappy cutlery I snagged “just in case” from the airport.
