One of the reasons I so greatly dislike the “can men and women be friends?” nonsense (yes, full stop, shut up) is that it casts suspicion on people with opposite-sex friends instead of where it more often belongs: on people with no opposite-sex friends.
Anyway, yeah. The overwhelming impression one gets from so many of these emails is that a lot of them are guys who have never had a real, serious friendship with a woman in their lives.
Which sucks for them, but also sucks for every woman who has to deal with them, ever.

I'm not sure what to make of it, but every Somali I represent in immigration court currently (8 of them) have today had their hearings cancelled and their judges reassigned. They're now all assigned to a video judge from Louisiana and scheduled for court hearing in one month. 🧵

Reminds me of the idea explored in season 3 of The Good Place: that we’re also responsible for the unintended consequences of our choices. This should feel familiar to anyone aware of the legal standard of “known or reasonably should have known.”

As a former CSAM federal prosecutor, this is beyond incompetence. It is criminal. Making CSAM publicly available is a crime, even if it is done by federal prosecutors or law enforcement officers and even if it is done negligently. It is as close to a STRICT LIABILITY crime as the law allows.
