Man the implication that somewhere deep in our brain there is a “see tiny people all over the place” button and a mushroom can press it, that’s deeply unsettling.
With most psychedelic drugs, you never know what you're going to get. But this mysterious mushroom from China - without fail - causes users to hallucinate tiny people: crawling up walls, popping out from under furniture and marching under doors. www.bbc.com/future/artic...
'They saw them on their dishes when eating': The mushroom making people hallucinate dozens of tiny humans
Only recently described by science, the mysterious mushrooms are found in different parts of the world, but they give people the same exact visions.

Causing them to hallucinate! I like this
over the last couple of decades I think media and politicians' obsession with opinion polling has caused something a bit like the data rot LLMs get when they reprocess their own information, but on a societal scale
People are waving around 50/50 polling on abolish ICE and in the same poll Trump’s is like 30 points under water on affordability. It’s not at all crazy for professional politicians to think there’s a bigger advantage in talking about the latter!

The 5-year-old arrested by ICE In Minnesota is detained at Dilley. We reported on conditions there in the below article.

Parents said the food was contaminated with mold and worms & that children were so under so much stress that they were hitting their own faces & wetting themselves.
Analysis by The Marshall Project of ICE data obtained by the Deportation Data Project found that the Trump administration’s revival of family detention has swept thousands of children into ICE custody. At least 3,800 children under 18, including 20 infants, have been booked since Trump took office.
ICE Threw Thousands of Kids in Detention, Many For Longer Than Court-Prescribed Limit
Former immigration staffers argue ICE is choosing to detain families for prolonged periods to speed deportations and compel them to leave.

no matter how many times he's proven to be bullshitting, no matter how many people die because of what he did at DOGE, no matter how many nazi salutes he throws, no matter how many nonconsensual pictures Grok generates, "elon musk says thing" will apparently never stop being a headline
Tesla will probably sell its Optimus robots to the public by the end of next year, according to Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk, who’s said the carmaker’s fortunes will be increasingly dependent on humanoid machines.

So yeah, per the DHS vote that just happened, as I suspected: if they needed the couple of Rs that werent there to put it over the edge, theyd have held it open for them to get there. Even all Ds together w Massie would have only been 214. Margins are narrow but if Rs stick together its just math
The war powers resolution to block further military action in Venezuela by Trump is currently winning by 1, with all Dems + Massie and Bacon supporting, but the Rs have flown Wesley Hunt back to DC and are holding the vote open as he makes his way to the Hill from Dulles airport

In case you missed it: One of the ICE observers was pulled out of her car by CBP, who used facial recognition on her.

Three days later, she learned her TSA-Pre clearance had been revoked.
This ICE observer had her TSA-Pre-check revoked.

The grimness of US history should encourage us. Yes, people used to send lynching postcards. And other people saw that, worked towards building a more just society anyway, and succeeded beyond anyone's wildest imagination. There's more work to be done. What's our excuse for choosing despair instead?
I understand and appreciate the fact that for some it is genuinely uncomfortable and distracting to think about how grim US history is. yes, that is strategically relevant, and no, I wouldn't put "did you know people used to send lynching photos to each other as postcards?" on a recruitment flyer

absolutely insane to see Musk feted at Davos as the icon of a boldly "optimistic" future in 2026, as if he hadn't just spent the last year buying elections for fascists, making Nazi salutes, condemning millions in Africa to death, and building "Mechahitler," and a nonconsensual porn/CSAM generator

I fear my tipping point into madness is "Thus is un-American" posts in response to ICE terrorizing immigrants. I beg you to open Wikipedia (I would say a book but let's start small) and read up on The Trail of Tears, Fugitive Slave Catchers, Japanese internment, Indian Boarding schools & Jim Crow

For those outside the Twin Cities, the person posting this GoFundMe is a member of Minneapolis city council (and among the many locals doing absolutely heroic resistance to ICE), so it's legit.
Please help us bring Liam Adrian Cornejo Ramos (he’s only 5 years of age and is currently in pre-K. Yesterday, he and his father were kidnapped by ICE. This will help the family with legal services to help reunite Liam and his dad with their family.
