I knew the "urbanists just don't understand that not everyone can ride a bike!" people were acting in bad faith but it's wild having them still saying it to me when I'm like "yeah, it literally me - my chronic illness causes fatigue and unpredictable dizziness. I still want bike lanes."

4 corporations. $315B in profits. Just 4.9% in federal taxes. Tesla paid $0.

With Trump’s billionaire tax cuts Amazon, Alphabet, Meta & Tesla got $51B in cuts in ONE year.

At the original 35% rate, they’d owe ~$110B. Free public college costs ~$75B.

FBI once again (!) confirming, in public, that they plan to make being transgender a federal crime - and it's crickets at best from the Democrats and the media.
Kash Patel: "We looked at the facts and the evidence. We saw a stream of violence related to transgender ideology that led to unfortunate deaths and assassinations, and we took action."

It’s not especially hyperbolic to note that perhaps the single worst way to succeed as the head of any organization is to tell your staff only to tell you what you want to hear.

I know this is sadly not how anything works, but I would love to live in a world where dumb shit like this gets you and your party ostracized from public life - not even for ideological reasons, but purely because no one with even a modicum of self-respect should tolerate such idiotic nonsense.

Here's a headache.

I cannot take anyone seriously about defunding ICE, while they only mention the murders of Pretti and Good as their reasoning.

Let's not forget about Keith Porter Jr., or the countless migrants in that body count.

You're only upset because minorities aren't the only bodies.

This is a subtle point but I’ll try it out as a “yes, and”: What Minnesota (not just Minneapolis) showed us is even bigger than “love your neighbor,” because in Minnesota, “neighbor” is a more expansive category than proximity. It’s anyone who needs help.
My theory of the moment: The extraordinary courage of ordinary people in places like Minneapolis is reawakening us to our social and economic ties to immigrants. It's making "love thy neighbor" cool again. That's the ultimate antidote to MAGA hate.

Thoughts on this:

ICE is bad. Deportation is bad. Immigration restriction is almost always bad. Armed masked men going into homes without warrants is so obviously villainous that the fact anyone approves it is a stain that will haunt even generous histories of our nation ever after.

I am anti-ICE.

ICE doesn't ever "leave" any state. There will continue to be ICE and CBP enforcement actions as there were during previous presidents. Hillary Clinton was saying this in her remarks. She doesn't like the visible violence but she is fine with "regular" violence.
