I know we keep focusing on Colbert and Kimmel as we should, but we also need to remember there are hundreds of people who work for these shows who also just lost their jobs because of this bullshit, and most of them are probably not millionaires.

Feel like this little sob story *could* have mentioned that Boyne's Polari nomination came five days after he wrote a piece referring to trans-inclusive women as the evil wives in the Handmaid's Tale, "ready to pin a handmaiden down as her husband rapes her".

it appears that @bsky.app have suspended the account of @jessiegender because a trans person saying "I wish ill on JK Rowling" is against the rules, so let me say with my loud cis voice that I too wish ill on all perpetrators of hate speech against trans people

reinstate Jessie, this is ridiculous

I love this thread. Gets to the heart of the bizarre ways these Disney remakes are at once unimaginative photocopies of their animated classics that *also* bafflingly misunderstand the emotional core of the original films.
There is one specific scene in Lilo and Stitch that was changed that I think fundamentally led to every other decision they made in that movie.

In both Lilo and Stitch movies there is a scene right before Stitch falls from the sky like a shooting star.

This is viscerally disgusting from anyone, but especially from a Labour PM. Every single person in the UK will have stories about how immigrants have made our lives, or the lives of our loved ones, immeasurably better.

It’s language like Starmer’s that causes ‘incalculable damage’. I feel sick.
If you thought the PM’s speech was punchy, his foreword to the immigration white paper says high net migration has done “incalculable damage” to the country.

That is a serious shift in tone for a Labour government/party.

The perfect Starmerist trifecta in action: impoverishing UK institutions, with a cruel + bigoted law, that won't appease, or even be noticed by, a single racist who doesn't already vote Labour.

With zero tactical benefit, you'd almost think this Labour govt are simply very racist themselves.
The Home Office will restrict work and study visas from nationalities who are most likely to overstay and claim asylum. Visas will be rejected for individuals who fit the profile of someone who will go on to claim asylum and are from countries with high rates of asylum.

John Lithgow is saying the reason he said yes to starring as Dumbledore is coz he reckons it's his last major role and will take eight years to complete. Has anyone explained to him that instead of that he could make three really good films in that time? Films for adults that aren't made by bigots?

Yeah can we stop asking politicians ‘what is a woman?’ and start asking them ‘what proof are you insisting women give you before you’ll let them go to the toilet?’
Asked if Keir Starmer still believes that a trans woman is a woman, his spokesman replies "no".

Says that trans women must now use men's bathrooms

This is actually a really good thing but you wouldn’t know it from reading this article. Massive films being made in the UK creates literally thousands of jobs for actors, camera operators, set builders, designers and lots more inherently precarious professions

Really disgusting

Garron Noone is correct about Ireland becoming more dangerous.

But it's not cos of migrants, it's cos of the brainworms that Irish people have caught from the far right/conservative/fascists.
