Let's not over-egg our system, ART is stacked with Liberal appointees handed the seats as rewards (no merit or qualification requirements), visa conditions are confusing and stringent and few higher courts ever knock back the Dept.

All that is totally aside from the refugee treatment

Also more generally, AU visa requirements are insane, easily in the same league as Japan. Top 5 restrictive country to move to unless you are an NZ or UK citizen. For example: most born here would fail the language requirements to move here

Getting citizenship isn't too bad once you're here tho

This is a little far afield at this point. Maybe when they start snatching the animal costumers off the street this would be sensible, however that is not the case and ICE is not in fact everywhere and never will be.
