If Musk put his money into a basic UK savings account paying 4%, this is the interest he would earn:

Per year: £14.4 billion
Per day: £39.45 million
Per hour: £1.64 million

Just the interest = 370,000 average UK earners.

And he doesn't work interest.

And he wants to pay less tax.
It’s hard to imagine the vast fortune that is Elon’s net worth currently estimated at $476.4billion or £360billion. If it helps, someone on an average salary who wanted to save up this much would have to had started saving in the Miocene epoch 12 million years ago. (assuming they saved every penny)

The UK, where the day after a decision to take half a million children out of poverty, the media & political world has been full of sneering at those same children & their families, labelling them as ‘Benefits Street’, while the same people are moaning about a tax on £2m mansions. Shameful stuff.

Srsly. Does Heath not have anyone? A partner, a mother, a sibling? Anyone who loves him? A cousin that remembers him fondly to stage an intevention? An editor who does not loathe him to stop this? ANYONE?

It sure would be good if Heath woke up one morning, went to his computer, opened a new document, and did not go on to wet and soil himself.

Fewer workers. Fewer international students. More people leaving.

A "step in the right direction" according to the PM.

Impossible to take PM/govt seriously on growth if they are deliberately reducing it (and making the fiscal position worse) *as a matter of policy*.

Nigel Farage has spent £1m taking out adverts in the papers to distract from the Nathan Gill Russian bribe scandal.

We can't let him buy himself out of this. We need an investigation into Russian influence in our politics.

I'm not sure how much it is appreciated that there will be significant emigration coming. Those here on graduate visas coming to an end, the toughening up of skilled worker rules re. salaries/sponsorable roles and the 'earned settlement' changes to come. Lots of people are going to leave.

I feel angry about the all hostile narratives propagated against immigrants. It's socially hard for an ethnic minority woman to express anger but nevertheless I feel I must. Anger is the appropriate emotion here with such gross unfairness & public harm. Let's give eachother permission to express it.
