TRUMP: and this Daniel, he went into the den?

MAMDANI: The lion's den, yes

TRUMP: surely they ate him

MAMDANI: Here's the part where it gets a little Broadway: they didn't

TRUMP: Unbelievable

Going to choose violence on Bluesky today I guess but Kathy Hochul continues her winning streak by approving the natural gas pipeline in New York, it's good on the merits *for bringing down emissions* and it's good for affordability and politics. gothamist.com/news/gov-hoc...
Gov. Hochul OKs key permit for Trump-favored gas pipeline in NYC, North Jersey
The move reverses an environmental policy victory won by the Cuomo administration.

This is what a pro-growth governor who cares about affordability for the working class AND long term effects of climate looks like!

This is a tattooed military veteran who runs stronger than Biden or Harris or Janet Mills with working class voters in Maine — it’s not a hypothetical question, Dems could try to be more like this guy.

This is not speculation this is fact
This is random speculation but I think a lot of Dem candidate ads are “too good” in terms of aesthetics and cinematic quality and it would probably be more effective to be pushing more cheap-looking AI slop.

Well, that didn't last long. DHS told staff it was reversing guidance issued last week that agents were not to conduct immigration raids at farms, hotels and restaurants.

As @yair-rosenberg.bsky.social has noted, war with Iran is something Israel was prepared for. October 7th was not.
there's been something of a tendency since October 7 to believe the *moral* disasters of Israeli action will result in *military* disaster, and that's likely to pop up again. I'm making no predictions here but I'd treat any 'this time Israel will really be in trouble' takes with a grain of salt.

this is exactly what happened with other congestion pricing schemes

executing on a policy is a risk -- people never like specific new changes, and then if you do badly they'll really hate it

but if you can make people's lives better, the social democratic ratchet is real
The wording of the question has changed, but congestion pricing is now at -2 statewide; +10 in NYC in this month's Siena poll. That's a 20 point swing from -22 statewide shortly before launch in December.

Yeah, what is not known (this excerpt is very long on Clooney, not an insider) is which WH staff saw the sort of Biden slips that wrecked him in Atlanta but didn't let anyone know. Names, jobs, etc.
"“It was an abomination,” one prominent Democratic strategist—who publicly defended Biden—told us."

--Fuck this guy. Biden didn't screw the Democratic Party. The people who knew Biden was toast and didn't say anything, didn't DO anything, screwed the Party and the country.
How Joe Biden Handed the Presidency to Donald Trump
At a fateful event last summer, Barack Obama, George Clooney, and others were stunned by Biden’s weakness and confusion. Why did he and his advisers decide to conceal his condition from the public and...

To me the angle that is interesting is that for an admin obsessed with the idea that government employees need to stop working from home and come into the office seems like the rule doesn’t apply for … the war cabinet?

One of the most remarkable things during the convention was how Obama and Bill Clinton did a cleaner job of saying the best testing message lines AND making it sound like just a conversational riff. Raw charismatic authenticity so much more potent when hooked to the median voter
oh i think this is exactly right. people care about your views but they ALSO care about whether you seem real and authentic
