Ne’er do well-no really. Witty once in a blue moon..sometimes obtuse. Believe in freedom to get in your own way when necessary. There’s still magic in the world if we look closely and quietly..

Well, Kilmer. That sucks. It’s amazing how everyone who had even a passing connection with this network knew how important it was to belong to it-or to leverage it. And still decided to do so. They incriminated themselves simply by engaging with it..
Val Kilmer, 2008: “I expressed interest in visiting you since I know how unpleasant the circumstances are and that people become shy sometimes when they should be reaching out. I hope this is your current email and that you are allowing this to let you
grow. God bless, Val Kilmer”

Q: Pope Leo cited Matthew 25:35 to critique Donald Trump's mass deportation agenda. How would you respond to Pope Leo in scripture?

MIKE JOHNSON: Sovereign borders are biblical and right and just. It's not because we hate the people on the outside. It's because we love the people on the inside.

Often it looks like you might win-and you don’t. If the Dems bite on this SAVE BS-they’re insane. Elections have been freely and fairly conducted for decades with vanishingly small amounts of fraud-should be messaged constantly. There are penalties for cheating-republicans have learned the hard way.
Mike Johnson on Trump calling for Rs to "nationalize" elections: "We had 3 Republicans who were ahead on election day in last cycle & every time a new tranche of ballots came in they just magically whittled away until their leads were lost. It looks on its face to be fraudulent. Can I prove it? No"

God this is a dumb story. Makes me think a little less of all involved.
This story has only continued to get dumber. Talarico denied ever saying the words "mediocre black man," but people are taking his statement as somehow confirming that he said that? Come on. Jesus.

Funny to think about the party apparatus gauging how ideological to be when it’s not even important to a lot of voters. If voters are disengaged, wonder how that reflects on the people they do vote for. Maybe that’s how we ended-up in this “say whatever you have to say to get/stay elected” world.
A war rages in the Democratic consulting class about whether Dems should go "moderate" or "progressive" in 26 and 28. @gelliottmorris.com argues that most voters are not ideologically moderate, they are disengaged. I found similar results from 2024, which he discusses in this post.
More evidence that a large share of "moderates" are non-ideologues

Not ambivalence..but tacit endorsement.
it's grim, but the reality is that Trump wants more innocent people to die here in the Twin Cities and the GOP majorities in both chambers of Congress are either ambivalent about more lives being taken or outright support it

Despite 3 million files, Epstein release leaves big questions unanswered
