I think it could be a key early game advantage for me but, after factoring in other skills, it may be good for only 10-12 points before everyone else has become familiar enough with the terrain of the court for that advantage to disappear.
do you think you could score 30 points in an nba or wnba game if you were allowed to see a map of the basketball court beforehand

I am introducing the Quick Recognition (QR) Act, which requires ICE and CBP officers to wear uniforms featuring QR codes. When scanned, the code would generate a digital ID displaying the officer’s name, badge number, and law enforcement agency.
ICE should be unmasked both physically and digitally.

Imagine asking the ICE goon that just assaulted you to stand still so you can scan his QR code.
People aren't leaving; looks like more have arrived since we have. Someone just shouted "suck my dick" and the crowd joined in with a spontaneous "suck his dick!" chant.

The people of Minnesota will prevail, don't you worry about that.
It probably is something of a detriment to wait longer between games. But when the main playoff narratives are "lower-ranked teams losing proves they don't belong there" and "if a top-ranked team loses, it's because it's rigged", it sure does feel like the media is just coddling the big programs.
7 out of the 8 teams that earned byes to the quarterfinals in the 12-team CFP era have now lost.

Included in this week’s That’s Marvelous newsletter is a list of horrible fake (mostly) nü-metal and rap-rock bands I accused @tedleo.bsky.social of playing in. If you would like more context, you can read the whole thing here: www.thatsmarvelousnewsletter.com/162-malort-a...

I feel like we can make My Morning Jackass happen.
I was going to joke about Netflix making a Casablanca “sequel” called Play It Again, Sam - one of the more famous “movies misquotes that pop culture ran with” - and learned that there’s a Woody Allen movie by that name and that’s probably a big reason that people think that is the real quote.
Netflix, which rarely carries a single movie from before 1980, wants you to know how thrilled they are to acquire that classic piece of franchise IP, Casablanca

Thinking about which team would be most likely to have someone become part-owner and install themselves as manager for 50 years and, guess what, it’s still the Athletics
If the 33-year-old Blake Butera manages until he's 73 and wins 90 games on average every season, he will have 3600 wins, and 131 wins short of Connie Mack's all-time record

I strongly disagree on the idea that Platner passes the smell test. A lot of people have said they've caught a whiff of Fetterman on this guy and the Nazi tattoo was very much a moment of "ah, that's where the odor is coming from".

The intentional walk to Vlad Jr. in the 4th has me thinking that MLB needs to try disincentivizing that next. Make it two bases and it goes back to being a pure desperation move.
And I think Vlad Jr.’s K in the 5th shows why it’s a dumb move as-is. You rob yourself of momentum when you play scared.

A fun thing about the ALCS and NLCS this year is that you have one team that everyone in America is rooting for (the Mariners), one team that everyone in Canada is rooting for (the Blue Jays), and one team that everyone in Japan is rooting for (the Dodgers). Also, the Brewers are there.

They’re firing people for nuanced responses that politely get across the idea of “chat shit get banged” so my takeaway is that we can drop the pretense.

"Political violence" is a term that exists to suggest a moral distinction between "violence against politicians" and "violence by politicians" - so that one can be condemned while the other can be normalized. Obviously, no such distinction exists in reality: violence is violence.

I think if you listen to a podcast with fake AI people saying AI generated words you are functionally dead, you are basically a phone to me at that point
