I can't recommend applying for a historic marker as a form of public history enough. In addition to getting lots of earned media attention, the thing looks really authoritative in a way a PDF never will. Plus, you don't have to pay Elsevier. 🗃️

I do not think he should be mayor, but this is so much healthier of an approach to take toward a democratic election than anything we are hearing from Andrew Cuomo. Cuomo is going to leave NYC the moment he loses. Sliwa seems to truly want to stay in this great city.

In the months after Harris’ loss, much was made over the demographic shifts in the party. Young voters, Hispanic voters and Black voters — all central to the Democratic coalition — had moved substantially to the right. But Priorities’ post-election polling revealed an equally staggering swing: Between 2020 and 2024, people who consumed at least three hours of YouTube a day had moved 10 points toward Trump — a bigger swing than Black voters, Black men, young voters and a slew of other categories that were dominating headlines.

I worked for years to bring two health clinics that we needed into the state of Vermont. I wanted to renovate one and build another one. You cannot believe the level of bureaucracy to build a bloody health center. It's still not built. All right? So I don't need to be lectured on the nature of bureaucracy. It is horrendous, and that is real.
But that is not an ideology. That is common sense. Any manager - you're a corporate manager, you're a mayor, you're a governor — you've got to get things done. And the bureaucracy - federal bureaucracy, many state bureaucracies — makes that very, very difficult. But that is not an ideology.

People fucking hate this guy. They fucking hate ICE. They fucking hate how much power he has. He is at 63% overall disapproval to 37% approval. That's lower than their poll after January 6th. And this poll was done before he started intentionally starving people. I wish our media would reflect this.
