People often react as if I've arrived by rocket ship when I tell them I walked 6 blocks or biked a few miles or *gasp* took public transportation & then they offer to give me a ride home, as if I need their pity. Minnesotans brag about being tough but balk at the concept of walking in the cold.

Midtown Farmers Market! So many folks bike from the South and there's only one rack with 5 poles! I think there are more racks near Hiawatha, but that would require walking your bike right through the market, which isn't ideal

Evidently @mayorfrey.com and @mndot.mn.gov have decided that permanent fencing will be installed early next week.

This is an attack on our active and public transit system and the citizens who rely on these connections. Curious what @metrotransitmn.bsky.social has to say about this...

Frey fencing already erected just hours after a mass shooting here at the Lake/Greenway connector path for the I-35W/Lake St transit station.

We have lost yet another critical active transport link to the inattention and inaction of the @jacob-frey.bsky.social adminstration.

Sounds like she's taking campaign advice from "Karen the Camera" A neighbor who loves to post people going to the bathroom, or using transit or just walking past her house. It's a great strategy if you want a big social media following of bigots.

The light turned green for me right away, but anyone who bikes and walks knows the look of an inattentive driver who's just gonna keep rolling. And then they yell at you like you're the jerk, for pointing out that they're blocking you. I kinda expect better from our local transit company, though 😕

Had to wait an extra light cycle bc this @metrotransitmn.bsky.social driver rolled right up into the crosswalk when I had a green light. When I told him he was in the crosswalk he yelled, "you have more mobility than me!"

Fateh, Davis and Hampton all support free Metro Transit bus passes for ALL MPS HS students! Heck yes. Give our kids access to transportation, boost bus and light rail ridership, win win all around. I was a middle school secretary, coordinating rides for young people needs to be easier!

Listening to the Minneapolis Federation of Educators Mayoral Forum. MFE59 represents almost 5,000 educators. Mayor Frey isn't here because of a miscommunication issue, but I'm excited to hear from Omar Fateh, Dewayne Davis and Jazz Hampton about how they will support our students and educators.

I got a $50 charge for my kid's last well child visit, which is supposed to be covered by United Healthcare. The bill is really vague and lists a bunch of preventative procedures (eye check, hearing test) but says those are all paid for. Insurance is the worst.
