The overlap between these two maps is fascinating. Almost as if... dare I say it... Clean energy = cheap energy?
Here's the average carbon intensity for the US over the past 12 months. There aren't too many clear correlations, but these stand out:
1. Missouri, what the heck is up with you?
2. Renewables in CA and TX aren't causing price increases.
3. TVA seems unbothered.

huh wonder why
Soaring electricity prices are triggering a wave of power shutoffs, leaving more in the dark as unpaid bills pile up.

Americans are paying 11 percent more for electricity than they were in January, though that number varies widely by state.
More Americans are getting their power shut off, as unpaid bills pile up
Average electricity costs have risen 11 percent since January, more than three times the rate of inflation.

Backwards, discriminatory permitting policies are putting over 500 solar facilities and 100 GW of power supply at risk.

And they will force your utility bills even higher.

Critics of renewables often point to land use as a reason not to do wind & solar. Land use IS a real issue for all energy assets incl renewables unless onsite.

But what critics conveniently forget is huge land impact of fossil fuels. Aerial view of fracking sites in Texas. 👇

Federal armed agents should not be enforcing DC's juvenile curfew. That's why I voted against the extension of a juvenile curfew.

I asked if we can be sure that there would be no federal involvement in enforcing the curfew. The answer was No.

Manufacturing factory construction investment DOUBLED from 2021-2024. The IRA made clean energy cheaper to make, cheaper to use, and cheaper to build in America. Much of it now rolled back, energy will be more expensive for everyone for the next 10 years. It’s a crisis.

Hybrid solar-diesel power is less expensive than diesel alone in parts of rural Alaska, study shows
Diesel prices in remote areas are so high that it’s cheaper to use solar for part of the year, the analysis found, even with the cost of two power plants.
