If Trump's critics stopped posting, you wouldn't take this as evidence of fascism. You'd call them cowards and move the goalposts.

And as some commenters have mentioned, many people ARE afraid for their safety and are being careful about what they say for exactly that reason.

I don't know about military stuff, but my guess is that Hegseth is not the first person in history to think that "All we need is for our soldiers to be murderous assholes" - and because of that, I suspect there are existing strategies for defeating an army of murderous assholes. Would I be correct?

A few years ago I made a short animated film called "Happyverse" about a dystopian future in which people go into hibernation pods in which they are fed AI-generated images of the past. I was embarrassed by this film because I thought it was too pretentious.
