That's nice, and explains the solid return.
According to a major league source, the Cardinals are sending $20 million to the Red Sox in the deal -- so the Sox are on the hook for $15 million of Gray's salary, plus the $5 million buyout.

Clarke walked 15.5% of his batters faced and didn't throw more than 4 2/3 innings in a start after April. Synergy also has him down for only 15 changeups in 2025 (possible it didn't pick some up). There's a lot left to prove entering his age-23 season.

His fastball averaged 97.1 mph, up from 94 in his final JuCo year.
His slider had a whiff rate of 63%, per Synergy. It was 63% against LHH and 63% against RHH.
