Judge insists federal leos follow federal laws or else nothing at all will change even if they don’t
A federal judge has prohibited federal immigration agents in Minnesota from arresting, detaining, retaliating against or using force and chemical irritants against peaceful protesters and observers.

The injunction filed Jan. 16 follows a lawsuit brought by six Minnesota residents during the early days of Operation Metro Surge last month.

I regret to inform you that we’re real minnesota residents trying desperately to tell you that our party’s failures to take action have nothing to do with funding and everything to do with unwillingness.
Yes, the campaign attacking this work is clearly mostly inauthentic accounts. These kinds of swarms are common on Twitter. Never experienced it here on Bluesky before.

In a time of crisis we all need to do our part. This is what I do, and am proud of our contribution 4/

The more I read those critics the more I think they are GOP/ Russian trolls. Who ever they are the agenda seems to dissuade us from creating any sense of unity. And to instil a sense of distrust of any dem leader. This approach worked in 2024. They’re doing it again. I say ignore and block.

NEW — ICE violence has spread well beyond Minneapolis, with agents landing in small cities like St. Cloud. I spoke with Alice Valentine, a local queer trans woman, who protested ICE on Monday and was pepper sprayed, beaten and jailed as a result, along with her girlfriend.

This is Alice's story:

You guys wanna help another way?

If you're feeling unable to do any direct action, please make sure your neighbors who are out patrolling have less shoveling to do. Please consider doing some laundry for your friends or running some take out over there, or having them over to your place.
This is Minneapolis:

I am SO behind on *every* basic life chore: grocery shopping, cleaning, laundry, errands.

Today I'm doing laundry for a neighbor family, who has been too afraid to leave to go to the laundromat for 6 weeks.

Maybe after that I will have energy to do my own family's laundry.

The City Council for the Occupied Territory of Minneapolis met today at 2 PM. 🧵

TLDR: The council unanimously adopted a resolution calling for Gov. Walz to implement an eviction moratorium in response to the ongoing occupation by ICE, and a resolution condemning ICE activity.

Hey folks Calvary Food Shelf has been helping out people in Minneapolis for 30 years, and now they’re ramping up to meet the crisis, including doing home deliveries so people don’t have to risk going out.

They’re just over halfway to their current goal—let’s get them all the way, shall we?

Hi! We're raising mutual aid funds for vulnerable Twin Cities restaurant/service workers & their families.

Currently, we are directly working with 6 Latino families to provide funds for rent, groceries, missed wages, etc.

I cant stress enough that a better world is possible if you want it.
At one point today, there were 283 Minnesota attorneys doing a training on how to file emergency habeas petitions to keep our neighbors from being shipped out of state and held indefinitely.

That would be the second largest law firm in the state. And that training was just put together this week.

This is Minneapolis:

You stop at one of the rotation of local coffee places you’re wanting to support through this. They have a “leave a message/take a message of encouragement for you neighbor in these hard times” jar on the counter. It’s next to the jar of whistles.
This is Minneapolis:

Your heart is broken and repaired in equal measure every day. It is your home.

I go to get some work done at the local coffee shop. They have an "ICE OUT MSP" sign in the window and a sign on the door barring entry to Federal Immigration Enforcement.

The place is much busier than normal.

We are in fact DESPERATE for winter coats, waterproof gloves, and good boots. We get so many wonderful donations but it is so cold and the numbers of unhoused unsheltered people are going up at the absolute worst time for it, and we run out of coats weekly.
The frigid Twin Cities temperatures will hurt the homeless; so do not gloat about the impact on ICE without also stepping up here:
If you're still able to help Minnesota, @supplydepotmpls.bsky.social is always accepting donations. $10 buys a pack of handwarmers. If you were given Amazon gift cards this year for Christmas, you can shop their Amazon wishlist: linktr.ee/sanctuarysup...

Apologies if you know this or it came up already but you can get query logs of your DL#, plate#, VIN, or permit to carry # from DPS/DVS/BCA. They have to turn it over within 10 days of request. It will identify the agency who did it, with a timestamp, what they asked for, what they got in response.
