The pitching was good, people.

The Dodgers-Phillies series had 2 games where both SP didn’t allow a run through the 1st 6 innings

It’s the 2nd series in postseason
history with 2 such games, joining:

1997 ALCS: G3 (Mussina, Hershiser) & G6 (Mussina, Nagy)

Yea, I’m no fan. The criminally slow response to AIDS, wars, Iran-Contra, etc etc etc
binns.bsky.social
Yea, I agree with this. Maybe move topper into a different role. And re the team this is nowhere near a scenario where you blow everything up. I was more inclined to say that last year. They gave me more this year against an incredible team that fixed its minor issues at the perfect time.

My boss is a Reagan Republican and has been enraged since this all started. I seem to remember being plenty angry at that group of Republicans back then but again, nothing like this.

But especially Reagan judges who actually believed every word about liberty, democracy, and the American Way.

Their anger is vicariously *scary* when deployed against MAGA tyranny.

As a group, District Judges (from across the ideological spectrum!) performing as well as just about anyone right now in defending democratic liberty.

that johnson is more terrified of seating a duly elected democrat who could force an epstein vote than having the entire government shut down really makes me wonder about that epstein vote tbh

I will say, and I resent saying this, but when I folded my pajamas the drawer closed much better.

I was nooooot looking forward to playing them.

No one wants to hear it, but they are good team and they will be back again next year with some changes. Mourn the 2025 season all you want, but the franchise isn’t done.

It was bad but I don't think that Kerkering fuck up even cracks like the top 30 "Philly Sports Agony" moments if I'm being honest. The game and the series already felt over for like a dozen other reasons besides that, it doesn't have the heft of the quadruple bounce or anything.

Bryce Harper should buy Orion Kerkering a house, he’s gonna absorb a lot of fire for him this winter

Feel for Orion Kerkering, man.

His error isn’t why the Phillies lost. They lost because they scored one run.

This is so much less painful than last season. They got absolutely bitch slapped by the Mets. They were competitive with LA. Where it sucks is the little mistakes that ended up burning them. Whether it was theirs or an umpire.

Last year was worse for me too- I really was hoping to avoid the Dodgers and you could see they had gotten healthy just in time.
robhanna.bsky.social
Not even close to 2011, for me. Let alone '93.

That one hell of a team we lost to. Had to play better than we did to win. Had a real shot to take them down, blew it. Hurts.
jesuszoidberg.bsky.social
I sat through Joe Carter and Ryan Howard. This is nothing. This was a great series that ended on a mistake in a series where so many of those inflection points went against the series. Last year was worse.

9 months ago the Dodgers got Sasaki and then signed a bunch of guys (who mostly failed) and every talked about them as this unstoppable juggernaut. They weren’t healthy until now and the Phillies out scores them in the series and went toe to toe in the losses

Did they collapse? In 4 games they faced Shohei Ohtani, Blake Snell, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and Tyler Glasnow. They didn’t get shut down by Manaea, Severino, Senga, and Quintana here.

“No one wants to hear it”.

I’m tired of this cop out excuse. Three years in a row they have collapsed. I want shake ups because this roster isn’t it.
binns.bsky.social
Anyway, go Blue Jays

I mean he had a play at 1st too but most people would go home wouldn’t they ?

The Dodgers pitching was real fucking good and the Bader injury changed the series. Just absolute pain against a great team they could have beat.
