ICE policy says a person can be deemed a gang member if any ICE officer notes two "Gang Membership Identification Criteria." In Mr. Reyes Barrios' case, that appears to have been:
1) A tattoo modeled off the Real Madrid logo
2) A picture from social media of him throwing the horns.

One of the frustrating things I learned decades ago while opposing creationists is, when they have power, it's very frustrating to be forced to take such ridiculous ideas seriously. The ideas aren't serious, but their ability to implement them is, so we have to explain why they're not to normies.
Posting about what Musk says, tweets, and does is not engagement bate. He has incredible power, and will soon have far more.
It is inherently newsworthy, and it will portend many dangerous things coming our way. If it's done in an educational way, it can arm people with knowledge they need.
