I just voted against funding for DHS, ICE, and Trump’s lawless administration. We need to defund ICE, get them out of our communities, and abolish this violent agency. Not one more nickel for Trump and his MAGA minions.

Watch through. An undocumented person in Minneapolis brought dogs to a shelter after ICE kidnapped their humans, abandoning the dogs in their homes with no humans around.

We already have a warrant requirement. It's called the US Constitution. If that's not fucking binding them, what the hell does your little agreement mean?
Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said the party agreed on three main goals:

° Require warrants in some cases and ICE coordination with state and local law enforcement

° Create a code of conduct and enforce it

° Require agents to wear body cams and not masks
Democrats demand new ICE restrictions as government shutdown looms
After federal agents shot and killed Alex Pretti in Minneapolis, Senate Democrats say they’ll block a massive government funding package without policy changes.

Right now, Democrats have the power to defund and abolish ICE. We should do it. This is about right and wrong—and the murder we are seeing on the streets is just plain wrong. Anyone who supports funding DHS and ICE is supporting the murder of Americans. We can stop this.

I only knew Dan through his writing, podcast appearances, and affectionate references from his friends/colleagues, but I am so sad to hear this. My sincerest condolences to his family and friends. I'll remember him every time I see a weird gem of a T-shirt representing an idiosyncratic local fandom.

Imagine being one of the richest men on earth & buying a storied news organization you could effortlessly fund to support robust journalism & instead dismantling it because, idk, it doesn't adequately sell the public on your 'tax breaks for megayachts' plan. What a pathetic choice. What a sad life.

On twitter, every fascist influencer with real or pretend military background is rolling out war terms to declare mutual aid an Iraq-style insurgency. I'm sure the Minnesota wine moms are working hard on their "dispatch nodes vectoring assets." The moron who posted this phrase got 80k likes.

Ah, yes, let's hasten a culture where people don't actually know things and just try to fix what the automated systems mess up after they mess them up.
this is crazy behavior. this is crazy and dangerous behavior and everyone needs to start calling it what it is.

A lot of the Male Loneliness Epidemic can be traced back to the fact that most cis dudes don’t participate in communal logistics.

part of this is like, conservatives projecting; part of this is conservatives unable to imagine politics without money; and part of this is dudes who are so out of touch with feminized labor that they think children's birthday parties exist as a spontaneous act of parthogenesis
I mostly just stay off Twitter altogether but after double checking that the Walter Hudson post was still up I ran across this and just had to share so the Romancelandians who bought hand warmers could hear about the PROFESSIONAL GRADE LOGISTICS.

This country is in crisis because of its reckless and deranged leadership, something a majority of Americans are coming to understand. That is worth stating plainly and clearly in an editorial. It does not require both-sides-ism, false equivalence, blame-shifting, or rhetorical ass-covering. x

This is from the NYT masthead editorial about the murders of Renee Good and Alex Pretti. The highlighted line invalidates not just the editorial, but the very idea of newspaper editorials crafted by the consensus of a board. Better to publish nothing at all than to publish a line like this.
