Doubt this qualifies as a comedic role but my mind immediately jumped to Farrell and Gleeson in Banshees of Inisherin.
This could probably also be applied to Ryan Gosling in the Nice Guys as of 2017, as most of his comedic roles had come after (in my mind at least)

It’s so much easier for comic actors to do drama than vice versa. Look at Jim Carrey in Eternal Sunshine or Truman Show, and then look at De Niro’s comedies, they’re terrible
