It's like this, if you didn't vote for Harris in 24, I'm not catering to you. There was the functional equivalent of a societal GED and you failed. I struggle to listen to people who proudly exclaim their judgment is that poor.

When you ask yourself “Yeah, but did he shoot a puppy?” when weighing who is a worse choice to run DHS.
I don’t mean to ruin anyone’s weekend, but I definitely could see Desantis taking Kristi Noem’s job. They also have never liked each other so wouldn’t shock me if he’s lobbying for it.

Is Bernie capable at 84? Since he’s running for yet another six year Senate term?

If you don’t have this sauce for Sanders, ask yourself why, then sit down.
Come on, Janet Mills is only

*looks up age*

Wrf it’s a 6 year term starting next year, people!

And it’s “good news” she’s the front runner because if nothing else I feel sure she’s not in any way a Nazi.

She just has to be fully capable of being a US Senator until she’s 85.

I redirect everyone’s attention to JIM MACKAY, a book-banning, Great Replacement Theory-touting hard right-winger who *has changed his name* to J. GORDON MITCHELL to run as a Democrat in Texas’ 17th Congressional district
I also am baffled that people are assuming this super checkered barely known guy will be super progressive as though we're not living in a post Fetterman universe.
It's nuts that these are the two candidates the respective wings of the Maine Dems have coughed up. I am positive there are, somewhere in the state, a moderate who's not 97 years old and a progressive who doesn't have nazi tattoos.

Janet Mills is not 97 years old, nor does she have Nazi tattoos which she tries to pretend away.

Nice try equating the qualified two term governor with a Nazi fuck who joined the military to shoot people for fun. He literally said he wanted to shoot people.

We see the misogyny & ageism. We vote.

The command to love & welcome the stranger is the most repeated mitzvah (commandment) in the Torah. Repeated 36 times, it is the bedrock of a just society.

Maybe maybe standing up like this will be the beginning of remembering who we are as Americans.

Mayor Mamdani says it beautifully.
This city is home to people of countless faiths. But no matter what you believe, one thing unites us: we are all New Yorkers. We will not allow ICE to terrorize our neighbors.

The damage caused by Operation Metro Surge doesn’t disappear just because it’s ending. Families were torn apart. Small businesses lost millions. Students’ learning was disrupted.

We’re focused on supporting our neighbors and small businesses as we move forward. They need us more than ever.

That’s going to be one very, very, very, long list….
The New York Times reports that the Department of Homeland Security has sent Google, Meta, and other media corporations subpoenas for the names on accounts that criticize ICE enforcement. The department wants to identify Americans who oppose what it’s doing. I’ll save them time.

Something about Platner rubbed me the wrong way when I saw his first campaign ad. I didn’t like the gratuitous cheap-shot at his own supposed political party for one thing, and it seemed like he was trying too hard to portray himself as a rugged independent.

Agreed. He resented the vetting that is always done by a party when there's a new candidate. Like he expected to just be accepted and not have to prove himself.

That shows lack of sophistication & utterly no experience. Add to that his sordid past, love of killing and Nazi tattoo -- and NO THANKS

Also, tattoo artists will tell you not to get a tattoo if it doesn't hold deep meaning for you.

Platner's official story is that he left the Marines and joined the Army because he had forearm tattoos, which the USMC prohibited. However, IIRC, at the time, the USMC did allow up to 2 forearm tattoos, which was all he had. So the story doesn't add up.
