Why would I force them to make a movie when I could force them to make ten 26-episode seasons of STRANGE NEW WORLDS?
If you were a despotic president, what movie would you force Hollywood to make? I want to see Quentin's Star Trek movie or maybe Kill Bill Vol 3.

Strengthening "strategic cooperation among the world’s democracies" was not hard to do in 2009. It has become nearly impossible now that the world’s most powerful democracy has turned into a rogue nation led by a president who is more sympathetic to dictators than democrats. wapo.st/4oZH3wz
Opinion | America has become a rogue nation. U.S. allies are looking elsewhere.

Crucially, by upholding their constitution and the rule of law, Brazil discovered that support for Bolsonaro evaporated save for a dwindling minority of die-hards and dead-enders. Because Brazilians see Bolsonaro as a criminal and a loser, they've largely moved on from him.

Every University needs to reform its board of trustees. In what universe should the wealthy govern learning?
Handing the keys of governance to unqualified billionaires and allowing them to far exceed the proper role of the Executive Branch in dictating to other agencies (i.e. Musk/DOGE) or institutions of civil society (as with Rowan/ Compact) sure does not seem "populist."

This strikes me as a high risk/high reward move. If the D wins or vastly overperforms, Harris will look prescient. If not, well.

Presidential “determinations” from the guy who thinks stealth fighters are invisible, windmills cause cancer, the Continental Army took over the airports, political asylum is for the mentally insane, and who doesn’t know to whom he’s issuing pardons.
Trump and Pete Hegseth just killed three more people in another bombing, this time in the Pacific. The dead were said to be part of a "designated terrorist organization," which is itself utterly absurd. No evidence provided.
Trump's illegal murders in the Caribbean just got worse. An internal DOJ memo on the bombings says the victims are waging war on the US, but per NYT, it extensively cites the WH's *own claims* to this effect as evidence!

It gets even darker than that. 1/

Trump's entire gambit is to bully and harass and intimidate people into silence. But the elections last Tuesday, the huge No Kings turnout, and the packed rooms I saw in New Hampshire this week are proof that his plan is not working.
