The flooding happening in WA state right now is extreme. Homes under water. Evacuations underway. We also have new, PNW-flavored competition for the "shark in the flood water" image from so many hurricanes past. (Just to be REAL CLEAR here, this photo is NOT REAL, and not meant to look real.)

People are basically good, and if we as a society provided everyone with a baseline level of comfortable housing, good food, and good healthcare, without fear for the future, life would be chill

Even people who voted for this do not deserve to lose housing, healthcare, or food. I understand the temptation to think that when their actions hurt so many, but “people I do not like do not deserve to have their basic human needs met” is how we got here, and it will get weaponized against you
