If Labour wants to "follow" the politics that endangers our trans whanau for donor funds,

The Greens will lead the politics of protecting our trans whanau against imported fascism.

#nzpol
This is my position. I can’t believe they’re continuing to use this excuse when the “culture war” has already led to legislation being used to directly contravene the human rights of trans people. Lab wanting to follow and not lead *is* putting kids at risk.
Hipkins response to me was basically, "we absolutely support trans people & will reverse it, but we don't want to start a culture war that would put trans kids at risk."

It doesn't make sense. WP has already started the war, TPM & the Greens response didn't start a flare up of hate afaik.

What a good day to be trans in NSW. A TERF has to pay $50,000 to one trans woman soccer player and $45,000 to another. And all of Kirralie Smith’s social media accounts have to display a public trans apology.

This ban will not protect young people — it will hurt many.”

This is every "maybe AI can fix..." story right here

No, the solutions will come from funding science and community and AI is just the latest way for the billionaires to siphon off more money from that to their pockets
I was actually talking to someone at an IoD event, about predator control and invasive species - and they said to me "maybe with AI we'll be able to come up with solutions for pest plants"

And I told them about this tradescantia work. We don't need AI. We need to fund science and community groups.
Some good news for a change: the beetles and fungus introduced to control Tradescantia actually work, sometimes spectacularly. This is a game changer: this horrible plant smothers huge areas of forest floor and is a pain to eradicate by hand, regrowing from the smallest fragment.

Before you celebrate this headine, please imagine it read "BP sues government over climate action"

The Tarifs were dumb, but corporations suing govt for decisions they don't like does not end well for democracy

Just once i'd like to see the media run an honest headline about Seymour

"Seymour turns to name calling to avoid accountability for poisoning children"
In March this year I emailed Peggy Burrows to voice my support for her public stance re the school lunch disgrace. I noted the courage it takes as a Principal to speak up.
Her lovely reply made me tear up. She takes her role as a strong advocate for her students and their whānau deeply seriously.
Seymour labels principal at centre of mouldy school lunches a media 'frequent flyer'
The principal has hit back saying the food is delivered daily and leftovers removed.

It's deeply disturbing that the Australian government is not distancing itself from a country so blatantly practicing ethnic cleansing and is still all in on AUKUS

@albomp.bsky.social and @senatorwong.bsky.social do you have red lines with the US?
‘Remigration’ is a term that comes out of the European far right. Its use by the DHS account is a sign of democratic and epistemic collapse

I can only assume that because this is a headline, this clown does not understand that losing trust is the correct response

Like, no shit trust is lost, they horrifically failed in their duty to protect someone at the highest fucking levels and are _still_ doing it

When the government decided to let COVID-19 loose, they decided at that exact same time to do two things.

Make life difficult and lonely for elderly and disabled people.

Kill elderly and disabled people by playing dress up and pretend it’s 2019, because we want to be “kind”.

Imagine how frequently this must happen for Uber, the company thats let all kinds of bad stuff slide, implement this feature
“The dual class action suits allege that the functions—which followed thousands of sexual harassment and assault lawsuits against Uber and Lyft over the years— have limited the economic opportunities for men and discriminated against them because of their gender.”
