As a child protection professional, I can tell you the death penalty is NOT an awesome solution to child sexual abuse. Most children are abused by family members; they will not report if their family members will die as a result.

when MAGA white supremacists like Carl whinge abt passing of 1965 Hart-Celler Immigration Act they are complaining that it overturned 1924 Johnson-Reed Act, a law limiting immigration to people from Northern Europe, which was drafted by eugenicist Rep. Albert Johnson, with BIG support from the Klan

Chris Fleming is in town tonight but I feel like I should save money and stay home. Life would be a lot more fun if I were rich. Anyone else have that problem?

The Project 2025 author is using millions of dollars in USAID money for his own security detail.

It is estimated that 762,000 people have *already died* as a result of Elon Musk and Russell Vought’s obscene murder of USAID, including more than 500,000 children.

Vought is a mass murderer.

I've been watching a Brazilian novela for the first time in years and I really did forget how much "soap opera" mechanics these shows use. I thought the rise of "prestige TV shows" in the past 15 years would have changed how these shows work but nope!

I know people hopping on buzzwords has always been a thing but I'm still amused by seeing so many people referring to "A.I. implementation" in their resumes as if they themselves built an LLM, as opposed to the reality which is "My boss told me to run A.I. on some things so I did."

I seldom have to decipher software phrases at work and I think I'd lose my mind if I had to read these types of phrases every day

I know my definition is too broad for some, but I think making desk job employees report to an office is a form of human trafficking.

Generation gap I only realized now: I never saw my grandfather (b. 1916 - d. 1992) wearing blue jeans. I think he was already too old by the time they became acceptable to wear in public and he never adapted.
