Time for a new arc and that means a brand new motivation to be professional and have standards and norms and civility and definitely not run any cons or accidental revolutions or double crosses.

Just kidding! We're totally gonna keep doing all those things, obvs

Let me get this straight: we trained this guy to be an elite killer, abandoned his country to the Taliban, isolated him, arbitrarily banned him from working and so left his family unsupported.

I don’t know if there’s any more efficient way of producing a mental health crisis outside of torture.

Why wait until the polls close to start that most beautiful pageantry of Democratic politics, the ritualistic Blaming of the Left
Y’all talked too much about the TN-7 race, turned it high salience, juiced turnout, and wrecked Dems’ chances of sneaking in a win.

On #GivingTueaday, we know there are so many worthy charities who rely on donations asking for money. It can feel hard to support everyone when we’re all spread so thin.

Sustainable monthly giving is the lifeblood of rescues & makes a huge impact for just a few $’s each month: linktr.ee/crits4cats

In college, I had to read the Department of Defense’s Law of War manual.

I kid you not when I tell you that firing at the shipwrecked is quite literally provided as an example of an illegal order.

Every now & again, it's useful to say why I do all these eel history tweets.

Mostly, it's because eels need our help. They're critically endangered, seeing a c.90% drop in population in the last decades.

But it's hard to get people to care! 'Cause...eels are gross & slimy. 1/2

All I'm saying, "It: Welcome to Derry," is that if you're not among the first 10 or 20 movies or television shows to do the "Black-and-white episode/movie in which the monochromatic aesthetic is punctuated by bursts of unsettling red" thing, maybe you want to reconsider the visual gambit.

I’ll do another one hang on what do you mean I ruined it
I named my fists left and right because frankly I'm not comfortable with naming body parts and fists especially that just seems fraught with psychosexual implications I don't really want to make explicit so in this essay I will

This is very too bad. I met him at a book signing in the early 2000s - very pleasant and talked enthusiastically about his next book about a young woman on the Ozarks who's father had been killed.
I was happy to see his talent on the page, in positive reviews, and eventually on the screen.

There's been zero evidence released to the public that the boats that Trump has ordered destroyed in the Caribbean and the Eastern Pacific are drug runners and/or terrorists. Perhaps they are, but the evidence is not there.

The TA is not a professor. I point this out because it’s relevant, there is a major legal difference. The TA is a student and is also entitled to the same privacy as the student who complained. This is a major FERPA violation, the university shouldn’t even be really commenting publicly on this
OU has put the professor here on administrative leave:
