I sympathise with indie devs. the only thing I can say is that as press, a lot of us are in love with indies. Some of us write for small sites - @unwinnable.com @startmenu.bsky.social @intothespine.bsky.social - they are less bound by the need to abide by SEO practices. give us and give them a shot!

Imagine trying to write about indie games as a freelance journo! it's impossible. I can barely land pitches these days - much less nail pitches about indies. Strangely enough, the only place that lets me write about indie games is the Epic Games Store, so take that for what you will

Used to run an indie site where a good amount of time is spent speedrunning as many indie releases as possible. I didn't get paid a lot, the site didn't get much views, and in light of the impossible demands to get eyes on your pages as press these days - yes, press for indie games is rough

and we've still received next to no press at all
