Steve Reed: "As soon as the PM found out the truth he acted with integrity"

Integrity? When the govt appointed Mandelson you knew he'd stayed at Epsteins house after Epstein was convicted of child sexual abuse & you were ok with that because Mandelson was a key political ally

Steve Reed: "Yes of course he is"

Reed is a long time political ally of both Mandelson & McSweeney, and all three of them worked together in wrecking, smearing & lying to regain control of the Labour Party.

My letter in today's Clare Champion calling out local TDs for voting against the €400 winter payment.
Full letter in alt text.
There's still time to raise this issue in your locality. I've raised it in Clare, I know someone else has submitted in Kerry. Any other counties ready to try? #spéirgorm

John McGuirk claimed in his WSJ opinion piece that George Mitchell is only referenced twice in Epstein emails, which is untrue. he's also in there under misspellings of his name, including in an email where Epstein says he's picking Mitchell and Ehud Barak up in his jet in 2013

People providing counselling services in Ireland are poorly regulated. The colleges providing counselling courses, the accreditation of course providers, the qualifications that legitimise practice require far better scrutiny and regulation.

That being said, counselling records can't be relied upon
The use of victims' counselling notes in trials for sexual offences is grotesque – yet the govt's new legislation doesn't ban the practice.

The Taoiseach says an outright ban is unconstitutional – the Social Democrats don't accept that excuse.

The govt needs to act stronger on this.

I've written about this phenomenon in my column quite a lot and spoken about it regularly on the @louisemcsharry.bsky.social podcast and if I'm being totally honest at this point I think it's being done specifically to bait me.
Today, Paul Murphy said that the Government are afraid to stand up to big tech, and Micheál Martin replied "How dare you? Who the hell do you think you are? That is a reprehensible assertion."
You can gauge how true an accusation is by how flowery they get in the language of their rebuttal.

You find the idea that you're a top-down person "repugnant"? You're not just saying it's untrue, you're calling it out as REPUGNANT?

I'm afraid that makes it an extremely accurate accusation.

Journalism on Epstein is a mess.
There are 4-5 journalists (like Julie K Brown and Tara Palmeri) who are superb. Then there are well meaning uninformed journalists who don’t understand their word vomit isn’t helping Survivors. Then there are a large glut of nothing-to-see here clowns.
Fuck Bertie. But also fuck this trash reporting that fails to mention that Sexual Predator George Mitchell was named in court depositions (that he never challenged) as far back as 2003. He’s a scumbag. Reporting like this shames journalism. Report properly or shut up.

When people on the Right drone on about how all of history & the way the world works is just competing interests, conflict & commerce, it strikes me how much of history you have to ignore to make that theory work. It's something only a prick who never sees what others do for them would believe.

I know I shouldn't, but I actually quite enjoy watching Sir Keir Starmer's carefully inflated self-image whistle fart noises as it spins off into the rafters as he deflates. This is what comes of elevating someone of the calibre of an assistant manager at a provincial Spud-U-Like to high office.

Here, I explain what the jury learnt from the trial: jonathancook.substack.com/p/barristers...
