Just a note to everyone else who has moments of doubt about what they're doing, whether they're capable or talented, just remember that some of the dumbest and privileged fucking people in the world are walking around with all the money and never once consider how unbelievably stupid they are.

The importance of SBIRs/STTRs in funding anything that’s not the current Sand Hill Road fashion- or simply won’t lead to overnight billionaire success- is not widely known.
Small thread on biotech in Seattle before I head out to Boston:

Sentiments in WA life science startup scene = very disappointed in the lack of SBIR renewal to fuel good startup ideas/commercialization efforts, and the number of clinical trials moving from the US to China, Australia, Canada.

For anybody unfamiliar with the last 10+ years of housing politics in America, San Francisco legalizing 8-story apartments in most of the city including its wealthy neighborhoods (and up to 65 stories in some places!) is like PETA opening a steakhouse.
Holy shit San Francisco!

60% of the city rezoned, most places exceeding (!!) SB 79. The most restrictive of these allows attached 4–8 story apt buildings with no cap on the # of homes inside, no parking mandates, and by-right streamlined approval.

What does it say about this country that that the kind of open, rank bigotry Trump administration officials regularly express towards black immigrants apparently has no social cost because of the number of Americans who quietly agree or don't care.

How cute!)

And if you think this will be confined to liberal arts and social sciences, and not extend to the rest of the sciences, you are very naive.
The message here to students at OU is that you can get away with anything if you just claim your religious freedom is being violated.
OU has put the professor here on administrative leave:

Crazy that this article fails to mention Zillow is defending a lawsuit right now for displaying this data. I think it's what gave the CRMLS threat more teeth.

Also crazy how much space this article gives to quotes from people who oppose displaying the data.

When a news outlet puts a reckless, undocumented claim by the Trump regime in the main headline and puts medical experts’ pushback in the smaller type, it’s making a choice. And not a good one.

no instead of spending time on the interesting ideas of all the people who didn't do these things, we have to watch the people who did these things get like eleventy chances to redeem themselves because the media wants us to

what if redemption was actually just letting someone else have the chance

The fact that TPUSA posted the entirely reasonable comments from the instructor here as coming from the “TRANS PROFESSOR” gives away the game.

They’re not defending students, they’re targeting faculty — as always

As violent as American drivers already were, we are simply not prepared for the raw carnage of aging suburban boomers behind the wheels of instant-torque, 0-60 in 2.5 seconds EVs.

They're going to slaughter tens of thousands of people and we're doing nothing to prevent it.
It looks to me like this 90-year old driver drove 177 feet down University Ave in Los Gatos in one second, which comes out to about 120 miles per hour
