mamdani is what it looks like when you say what you actually believe in and not what has been vetted through your AIPAC/Wall St/Tech donors

You cannot overstate how startling it is to see a politician just say the thing with clarity and poise. No fearful hemming. No overwrought qualifying down til it’s meaningless. No lingering sense that there is a loyalty to a donor class or an ideology of stasis that they’d never admit to.
Mamdani: "I am in support of abolishing ICE. What we see is an entity that has no interest in fulfilling its stated reason to exist. We're seeing a government agency that is supposed to be enforcing some kind of immigration law, but instead what it's doing is terrorizing people."

Bizarre editorial choice by @nytimes.com to portray Trump's threats toward Europe as strong and fearsome rather than as a madman and unhinged tyrant spiraling out of control before our very eyes

Schumer funded a genocide and has aligned himself with literal fascists.

It’s funny how you’re lying like this about a geriatric genocide enabling fool like Schumer in an effort to try and downplay the fact mamdani is proving people like Schumer have made a choice to allow fascism to continue

i think schumer likes what trump is doing with ICE because in his heart he is a stupid, old racist zionist who has two issue he cares about (a blank check to his pet ethnostate and wall st)

another one of the many unfair things about posting

Does everyone still think it’s anathema to treat these people poorly in restaurants by the way? If you remember my whole deal about that with Kirstjen Nielsen and them during the family separation days of the first Trump administration. Are we still doing that shocked routine? How dare he? etc.

p4k signed a major label deal, lost artistic control, and released a series of albums that sound little like what got them there in the first place. Once they’re dropped, there’s always the chance for a difficult comeback album that ultimately proves a critical favorite, however

I do still read Pitchfork and think they have some great editors, writers, and pieces over there—all of which are evidently being undermined by Conde execs who know nothing about its audience. So: writer-led Hearing Things is the music publication that gets my subscription dollars.
if u want to subscribe to an independent, worker-owned music and culture pub w/great criticism (and features, interviews, blogs etc) from five ppl you know and love, hearing things launched in october 2024 in the wake of conde nast's pitchfork layoffs :)

The U.S. is currently holding three times as many people in immigrant detention as were detained in the Nazi concentration camp system in spring 1939—six years into the Third Reich and just before the start of World War II.

If your solution to the ICE problem is more training and body cams, after Jonathan Ross, a 10 Year ICE veteran, murdered Renee Good and captured the act on his OWN PHONE, you are an enemy of the people and cannot be trusted as a public servant ever again.

the fact that this admin just kidnapped a foreign leader and is openly pillaging its resources on behalf of campaign donors seems like it should be a bigger story - the CIA used to spend years and lots of resources on this thing but this bozo nazi president just did it

what bothers me about the dems is that they could've won elections forever if they'd come out w/public option for health insurance and said no one should go broke because they get sick- it's straightforward and everyone has had to deal with this bullshit but they wont b/c their donors wont let them

For all those who have been calling for a General Strike.

How we support a localized/ state-wide General Strike to succeed, is an important muscle building exercise for a larger General Strike.
Unions and community orgs are calling for a Minnesota-wide shutdown in 10 days to protest the ferocious assault by federal immigration agents. They're saying on Jan 23, no work, no school, no shopping. SEIU Local 26, UNITE HERE Local 17, & others are supporting, w/ more to join. By me, Amie Stager
