I agree to an extent but also feel like it's a matter of people hearing advice not meant for them and taking it.
"you need to practice self-actualizing? no I need to practice self-actualizing" type stuff where the person seeing this is already self actualized and could actually stand to be less so

I feel lots of things that felt like, were billed as, self-actualization read in retrospect as canaries in the coal mine for the fraying commitments we owe to each other as members of a society.

i think as a transgender journalist, it's acceptable and makes sense for me to ask this
