OK, let’s see if I can keep this thread up this time - #BooksOf2025 begins with WHAT DOESN’T BREAK by Cassandra Khaw.

This Critical Role novel may need a lot of context, but as a longtime CR fan and a massive Laudna fan, I deeply enjoyed it - even when it made me sad. Fantastic choice of author.

It wouldn't be #SpooktasticReads without 13 prompts to inspire our reading and blogging. @adancewithbooks.bsky.social has put together a brilliant set for us with some nods to this years #WyrdAndWonder maritime fantasy theme

On this occasion of this, the #AceWeek of 2025, I just want to remind you to be aware of us.

We're here. We're queer. We don't particularly want to have sex with you.

Happy #SpooktasticReads2025! As of today I am halfway into Lady Macbeth by Ava Reid, for our October book bingo. What’s on your deck?

After a week of ridiculous Republican smears and Trump claiming that “very few people are going to be there,” you just made history. #NoKings

Aaaaanyway there are now 18 original essays in this series, with 13 more to go. If you like HALLOWEEN and deep dives on horror movies, I recommend them.

Does anyone know any good gm-less 2-3 person ttrpgs? Something rules-light and beginner friendly, preferably fantasy. I’d like to introduce my parents to ttrpgs but the only ones I’ve played wouldn’t work for this

Feral churches holding green communion growl at careless trespass. Their wild mysteries are not easily untangled. They scratch the soul, infect with untamed spirit. They place the language of vegetation upon the tongue and you find yourself offering thorned hymns. – #DAKilroy

B&N has dropped their Best Books of 2025 list with 2.5 months left in the year so here's your reminder that "best" is arbitrary, time is a construct, and there are still a ton of good books coming out that shouldn't be ignored just because the credits are rolling early

NoaF needs more contributors. Maybe that could be you?

If not, we'd really appreciate a share, or if you fancied passing the link across to someone who might be interested, so we can keep on covering as wide a ground in SFF as we can.

This is why I have no intention of ever watching a Jared Leto film.
Don't make me tap the Robert Pattinson quote, Leto.
Alcoholic: Negroni (sometimes with Whitley Neill blood orange gin for a twist)

Non-alcoholic: either a hazelnut latte or Barry’s Irish Breakfast tea

Now's your chance to show (younger) people, by your acts of beautiful, shining excitement, that having genuine love for things (art, bugs, apple varieties, books, theatre, volcanoes, charity work ......) & sharing that glowing joy is what makes you more deeply YOU & more deeply HUMAN.

See beauty.
Those who are 35+, what advice do you have for people just entering their 30s?

This is the genius of the Portland protests - they make the claims of lawlessness look not just wrong, but comical
