A testament to what can be done with the comics medium. I was never a huge fan of Thor, but this run drew me in and kept me reading. Sometimes, it isn't the character that doesn't grab you, it's the craft. Simonson is a master.

A testament to what can be done with the comics medium. I was never a huge fan of Thor, but this run drew me in and kept me reading. Sometimes, it isn't the character that doesn't grab you, it's the craft. Simonson is a master.
Re-read this run recently. Sure, it's aged some, but it holds up. Excellent comic.

Today is World AIDS day. I remember seeing the AIDS memorial quilt in Phoenix, decades ago. There was so much loss, grief, perseverance, and even joy on display. I was crying immediately. A volunteer asked me if I'd lost anyone, and I felt foolish saying no.

I see this argument a lot with regard to Talislanta. The two problems with it are a) it doesn't take culture, abilities, or anything except appearance into account, and b) by this reasoning, Mister Spock is also an Elf.

I am NOT a fan of Michael Sweet's politics, and I an DEFINITELY not religious. But, all that aside, a lot of old school bands could take a page out of Stryper's book when it comes to taking care of yourself and your voice/playing. They still sound amazing.

I am NOT a fan of Michael Sweet's politics, and I an DEFINITELY not religious. But, all that aside, a lot of old school bands could take a page out of Stryper's book when it comes to taking care of yourself and your voice/playing. They still sound amazing.

Rewatch complete of this John Woo action classic. Van Damme and mullets have never looked as cool as under Woo’s watchful eye. Henriksen is perfectly over the top while Vosloo is calculating and chilling. Stylized bloody action, jazzy soundtrack and slow-mo make this memorable.
